In high school, I was on the heavy side. However, when I found out that I had rheumatoid arthritis, the new meds made me thin for the first time in my life (age 21). Since that time, I didn't have too many weight issues. When I hit fifty, though, all bets were off. I packed on pounds so fast, and each pound had a corresponding effect on my joints. I can't blame the prednisone, because I've always been on it. I blame my terrible eating habits, in conjunction with a lack of physical activity. Recently, I bought a fitbit, and that is prompting me to move more. However, it is not enough, without a change to my diet. I now have downloaded ProTracker, an app which uses a point system like weight watchers. Adding a monetary incentive just might be enough to get me off those gummy bears.
