I just returned from las vegas and my scale showed almost 2 pounds gained in my short 5 days in the laden land of calories.  WTH!

How did that happen?  I was so good with watching the quality of my food intake, i took my shoes and jumped on the tread mill at the hotel, I walked more than 8 miles daily, and I didn't stay out all night (yes- i know-hard to believe).

Somehow something snuck up on me and I think I know the culprit.  Those free drinks at the slots.  In retrospect, while i didn't drink but a few daily, my choice to go with mixed drinks ensured that they were sugared loaded, empty calorie death torpedos to kill my progress.  I figured with all the walking, that the handful of free drinks would offset each other.  I was so wrong!

Before you say, maybe it's an hydration issue, I live in a desert climate- actually worse than Las Vegas so I didn't load up on water on my return.  I drink lots of water, all the time.  For every drink I had there, I grabbed bottle water.  Most meals were served with water- how boring for the wait staff.  They couldn't entice me to even go with bottled water.

I really need to turn up the heat this week before weigh in- i'm so close to my goal.  Getting anxious.  I need to make those extra pounds my bitch!
