Before January 5th get’s here you have to prepare for your resolutions. You know what, I hate that word. Resolutions no longer means goals and achievements. It is now a metaphor for a $100 a month gym membership that you won’t use. So let’s call it something else…hmmm…how about lifestyle? On January 5th, many of you will begin taking steps towards living a better lifestyle.
Let’s talk about preparation. Preparation is key to your success. You can’t just wing this shit. You can’t just keep it all in your head and assume you’ll remember what needs to get done. You have to write it down and have a PLAN.
We’re gonna prep for success with three crucial areas…Your WHY, Meal Planning and Exercise!

Step 1: Your why
Before you start any program, it’s important to cement your WHY. Your WHY will give you the motivation you need to show up every, single day, to follow through with your desires, and to keep making strides towards your goal.
If you have a rock solid WHY, you can tolerate & overcome anything.
What is it that you want to see, or have, or be able to do once you’ve reached the finish line?
Sex with the lights on? Competing in a race with someone half your age and smoking their ass? Reducing/eliminating some of your medications? Keeping up with your kids?
There’s no reason too superficial or too profound. The only thing that matters is that it’s super important to you. It has to excite you in order for it to inspire you!
When the going gets tough, remember your WHY, and use it to fuel your fight & remember why the process is worth following through.
Discovering & cementing your WHY is the first step you need to take before starting ANYTHING!
So figure out your why and WRITE IT DOWN, then figure out how you’re going to achieve it! The act of writing things downs helps you achieve clarity. Writing out your goals and your plan of action activates areas of the brain associated with positive thinking and action. Which is great. Because we don’t want to just write things out, we want to take action on them!
Step 2: Meal Planning
Every weekend I plan out my meals for the upcoming week. That way I always know what I will be eating and I’m never left frazzled and scarfing down some shitty food.
Meal planning is essential to getting the best results possible. When you cook your own food you can control the ingredients, and quality of nutrients that you consume. This will affect how you look AND feel.

You can find everything and anything there. Make google your new bff.
If you can’t cook, learn. Its not hard. Read the recipe, and follow the directions. If it says to preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Boom. You’re now a cook

Step 3: Exercise
Choose whichever form of movement you desire. The type of exercise doesn’t matter, what matters is that you MOVE YOUR ASS. Exercise will help boost your results and help you achieve your goals faster, and better.
Choose your type of movement and stick with it.
Consistency will produce results!
