This is my last week of break before starting school back up. My last semester! I thought I'd never see the end of the tunnel. Although I'm excited to return into the groove of things, I hope I will still keep motivated and stay on track so I can win this DietBet.

Day 1 was easier but challenging, in a good way. I haven't been to the gym in about four months. I've been doing workouts at home here and there but not as consistent as I should be. I've been more focused on cleaning up my eating habits. The gym wasn't as busy as I thought it'd be. Every new year the influx of new members kind of take over. I don't get mad about it though. We're all there working toward the same goal. I did day 1 of week 1 of the Clutch Cut program from Ashley Conrad on Bodybuilding.com. The workout took me about an hour. Had to take some longer rests in between sets as I was kicking my ass but it felt good even though the pain was there. The workout was as followed:

  • 5 min steady walk warmup on the treadmill
  • Full body stretch
  • 30 second intervals on the treadmill
    • 30 second walk @ 3.5
    • 30 second jog @ 5.5
    • 30 second run @ 7.0
    • Repeat 4x
  • Strength Circuit (15 reps each)
    • Clean and press
    • Medicine ball overhead slams
    • Bodyweight lunges (15 each leg)
    • Pushups
    • Bench dips
    • Bodyweight squat
    • Wide-grip lat pulldown
    • Medicine ball jumping jacks
    • Incline pushups
    • Dumbbell bicep curls
    • Side lateral raise
    • Single dumbbell row (15 each arm)
    • Repeat circuit 3x
  • Full body stretch

Yeah, it was a doosy. I came home and did Day 1 of Insanity Max:30. I've done Insanity in the past and it worked really well for me so I've been waiting for this new program for a while now. It also kicked my ass! Shaun T. is crazy. My overall goal for this program is to Max out at the end.

Day 1: Insanity Max 30

As far as eating, I've been following the 21 Day Fix. I like the thought of not having to count calories even though I still log everything in MyFitnessPal. The meals are easy to put together. I love cooking and nothing beats fresh food. This was my lunch yesterday. It was ground turkey with spinach, cucumber, and tomato on a whole wheat tortilla. I swear I don't set my plate up for pictures, I'm just kind of OCD when it comes to organization! It was 1 yellow, 1 red, and 3 green. I follow the 1,800 calorie plan.

I also started an accountability journal yesterday. I love the ease of using the internet and message boards but I'm kind of old school and also carry a notebook. Whatever it takes to stay on track. I'll update on Day 2 later today or tomorrow!
