Make it or not this has been EXACTLY what I needed to wake myself up.  It's nice to read everyone's everyday struggles and realize we are all in the same boat.  Every year in January we all make the resolution to lose weight...be healthy...get fit...etc.  But sometimes that doesn't even make the first month.  Whoever created this DietBet challenge is a genius.  Not only do we have to put our money where our mouth is but we have to go through what thousands of people are going through at the same time.  Honestly we waste way more than $30 on diet fads constantly throughout the year so $30 is not a sealed commitment...in reality the money alone will not keep most people in the game.  It's watching everyone try their best and not wanting to be the one to give up that is the most motivating thing.

I thought that I had ruined my chances when the second week rolled around and I saw the scale go back up a pound.  But then I kept reading everyone's posts and just so happened to see someone with a Fitbit asking for Fitbit friends.  I accepted with enthusiam because the friends that I have now have seemed to fall behind due to their daily lives.  This chance connection fired up my competitiveness when she posted a Fitbit challenge.  Now I run/walk until I am #1...lol...pretty soon I'm not going to get invited to her challenges...lol...but the bottom line is it has sparked a fire that has been dormant inside of me for awhile. Every morning I look forward to reading everyone's posts and checking my Fitbit challenge to see who I have to catch up with. Everything is falling nicely in place and just in time for my yearly 13k which I can never finish within 2hrs.  I'm so excited to see if I can run most of it this time.  A goal I've been wanting for years.  No better time than the present!!!
