I've made it to the red zone, only 9 days, 2.1 pounds to go on my first dietbet.  And I'm good with that.  I still have to have a game plan though.  I think I'll throw, and ignore my Pro Bowl running back.  Just kidding.  I'm going to do what I know works.

First, I'm going to drink water, and lots of it.  At least 2 liters a day.  Or 4 of my Brita water bottles.  Right now, I'm pretty sick of water, so I made some flavored water for the weekend.  Grated ginger root, sliced cucumber, and a pink lady apple.  Can't wait for it to get cold.  I'm also aim to drink 3 cups of tea a day - smooth move, detox, and a slim something or other.

I plan on continuing to eat bread/carbs 2 meals a day - Ezekiel bread, whole grain pasta, brown rice, potatoes.  I've found that any other carbs, or having these more than twice a day, and I feel horrible.  Bloated, tired, cranky.

Fruits and veggies.  I have fell in love with a big bowl of lettuce/spinach/arugula and veggies.  I try and eat one every day.  For fruit, it's pink lady Apple's, and bananas.  Occasionally berries or citrus.

A glass of wine.  Seriously.  After homeschooling, running errands, housework, and everything else, it's nice to sit down with a glass and just decompress.  Yes, I know I would lose weight faster.  That's ok, I don't want to lose it too fast.

Sleep.  Oh do I love sleep.  I try and go to bed before 10, and very rarely use an alarm.  I let my body tell me when it's done resting.  I know that doesn't work for a lot of people, because they have to get up for work, but it works for me.  I've learned I need 10-11 hours most nights.

The final thing that really works for me is walking.  2-3 times around the neighborhood a few times a week gets me 10 miles.  Too much more, and I'm so sore I can barely walk the next morning.  Any less, and I don't sleep well.

All total, I've lost 26 pounds this year.  The scale may say 22, but I gained weight over my anniversary, and lost it again.  Just by doing what works for me.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.  So I won't.
