This month was very frustrating!
This is the first time I would say I'm trying to lose weight the "right way". In the past I have always tried specific diets with meal plans or some sort of crash dieting, which has yielded mixed results of great success, moderate success, and of course, miserable failure.
So this time I told myself, do it the "right way".
What do I mean by the right way?
I mean, diet in a way that's sustainable for me for the rest of my life. Being smart, being honest with myself, but not trying to stray too far from something I would be able to do long term.
I cut out all late night snacking (after 8 pm), save for 3 nights or so, and even then, I kept the snacks to under 200 calories. I worked out literally every day in March, excepting 2, because life/ plans would not allow it. On one of those occasions, I actually worked out the next day to "make up" for the missed work out. I'm working out 45 min to an hour depending on whether or not I'm running outside or doing the elliptical at the gym. I've also cleaned up my day to diet significantly as well.
Needless to say, the loss of 1.2 lbs in 1 month with so much effort, is extremely disappointing.
Positives to take away I guess...
1. I still technically lost weight.
2. I do feel "more fit". My clothes are fitting better and running longer distances is getting easier.
3. I kept to my principle of doing things the "right way".
Moving on to Month 3 of this process, I'm tempted to go back to what I've done in the past. Following the meal plans or more severe things I've done in the past simply so I can see the results that I was hoping for.
For now, I'll try to pare down my diet, clean things up a little more, and hopefully Month 3 will be a greater success than Month 2 was.
