Your last line says it all. The first part of this is deciding to do it and the second is consistency, which is a whole other "animal." Sometimes it is just one foot in front of the other. Every moment you make a wise decision, it is for health and longevity. Hang in there.

I'm so sorry. That's a lot to deal with. You're among friends on here though and we can offer some support at least. Go easy on yourself and hang in there.

I've had so many ups and downs too. I basically had to start over my third month. Im now only a tiny bit below where I was in January. You aren't alone! If this were easy we wouldn't be here. I just keep reminding myself that I'm learning SO much about myself and at least making positive emotional progress. Things will come together for me so long as I don't give up. I think. I hope. So, hang in there! You have more support here than you even know. :-). I've got your back! You can do this! We are all here still trying and I'm proud of that :-)

My mom passed on Oct 21st- 2 months into my diet betting. I re-doubled my efforts in her memory. She was not one to take care of herself and I know she would want me to live longer and healthier than she was able. I tell myself daily that this is a lifestyle I'm choosing- not a diet. Be kind to yourself, really think about what you are willing to do differently - or not.For me, no sugar is easier than dabbling- 50 years of experience tells me I just have to say no. I do have 3 oz of wine almost every night- and I fit that into my daily food plan. Plan is the operative word for me. And it's a "practice" - some days are easy, some are not. If it were easy, everyone would be thin, right?! Best of luck on your journey(s). DB will help you stay accountable to yourself

I'm starting my first dietbet challenge too, and found it really daunting. Getting on a scale after over a year of not, taking a full length photo of myself, that was a big deal to me but I'm so glad to have jumped that hurdle.

Next came facing the fears of starting a diet, oh my! But I'm glad I did, the momentum is started and encouragement found here is really great! Look how much we both have already accomplished just by being here! Good luck! We can do this!!!

Question, referring to your statement, "I have sleep apnoea, pre-diabetes, and high blood pressure. It's time to do something about it," is sleep apnoea improved with weight loss?
