I finished my sugar experiment last week. I worked on cutting sugar out of my food eaten other than what is naturally in the food eaten.  I cut out pretty much all processed foods and read every label to avoid all the sugars which seem to be everywhere.  The results were amazing:  I dropped about 7 pounds, ate a bunch of new vegetables (like turnips and beets, which I didn't think I would like), slept well, and had good energy. After the two weeks,  I started adding back a touch of sugar, like in salad dressing, had some cake and caramels at my daughter's bridal shower.  I felt more tired, I gained back a pound in a just a few days, and I started craving sweets again.  Conclusion:  Keep cutting the sugar out of my foods!

So, this reading of labels, choosing unprocessed foods, and being careful to avoid sugar and salt (I've had high blood pressure in the past, so salt is something I've been avoiding for 5 years) are becoming my new norm.  I will continue to educate myself on finding and preparing easy, nutritious, unprocessed foods.

Loving the changes I see in me.....
