0900

Overcast, quiet and calm

Day 4 and I’ve never been stronger

While my day at the office is full, the real work is calling to me at home.

The hum of the treadmill drowns out the murmur of my colleagues.

The clang of the bench press engulfs the pecking of their keyboards.

My happy hour no longer means vodka tonics and office gossip,

My happy hour is hitting the pavement and watching the miles go by.

Pay day isn’t on the 1st of the month, it’s in 19 days.

While my day at the office is full, the real work is calling to me at home.

My job is no longer tracked in billable hours but completed reps.

My job is no longer measured by units sold, but calories burned.

My job is no longer to help my clients achieve their goals,

My job is to help me achieve my own.

Pay day isn’t on the 1st of the month, it’s in 19 days.

While my day at the office is full, the real work is calling to me at home.

I’m pushing as hard as I can,

Not for the corner office or a plaque on the wall,

Not for prestige, fame or glory.

I’m pushing as hard as I can to win.

I’m pushing as hard as I can to lose.

Pay day isn’t on the 1st of the month, it’s in 19 days.
