Yes, the initial weigh-in period opens 48 hours before the game begins for those who wish to maximize the amount of time they have to reach their goal weight, however you can weigh in all the way up until day 14 of the game! Hope that helps :-)

  • This is my first week doing Apple Fitness + workouts for the rower (I had been using my rower's app before) in addition to strength training and i am loving them! I hadn’t seen the “burn bar” before, but now it’s just another random metric I’ll use to push myself with 😆

It’s finally getting cooler outside which means long walk/jogs in the afternoon. Those are my favorite. I also plan on lifting weights for a bit.

  • What kinda diet has everyone been using to meet their diet bet goal ? :) I’ve been doing 1,200 calories a day Mon - Fri (office job, so never that hungry) + one hr at gym one day, an hour walk the next alternating ???? I eat maintenance calories sat and Sunday and enjoy meals with my other half!
    Today’s munch was yum! Would love to follow people using insta to track progress :) I’m @thehangrydieter

I’m dairy free for health reasons, but other than that I strive for about 1300 calories a day unless it’s a 2 hr gym day and then I bump that up. I’m with you on the weekends though. :)

  • Happy Tuesday, friends! I am totally guilty of comparing myself to others at times, so I found this very helpful.

    Steer Clear of Comparisons

    Pinning and posting pictures of super-thin models may seem like good weight-loss motivation, but according to research, it's more likely to hurt your progress. (As will this crazy 800-calorie-a-day “model diet.”) Scientists in the Netherlands divided women who wanted to lose weight into two groups: the first group was given a food journal with photos of thin models on the cover and interior pages, and the second group was given a journal with a neutral logo image on the front. While the neutral group lost weight, those given the journals sprinkled with supermodel images gained weight. (BTW, food journaling is a really effective weight loss tool.)

    The researchers say that the images of models discouraged the women by creating unrealistic self-standards. Staring at photos of much-thinner women while logging food intake may have made them feel like they'd never be able to achieve that look, so they stopped trying. Instead of comparing yourself to unrealistic fashion models, stay inspired by posting images of you at your healthiest for a serious dose of weight-loss inspiration.

  • I wanted to get out of my daily gym routine, so this weekend I ran Garden of the God's Friday night, went for a hike Saturday morning, and then another hike up a rock Sunday morning. I'm down 15lbs so far and 30% towards my end of the year goal!!

So proud of myself! Really got carried away this summer and my weight and body fat went up so fast! Gained about 18 lbs 😬 felt hideous in my clothes, so I really knuckled down and Worked hard at this diet bet so far - super consistent with my food/ deficit, one cheat MEAL (or boozy night but a healthy dinner) weekly, 10,000 steps a day + a light 30/40 min gym workout… down from 156.4 to 149 already and hit the diet bets goal
