PS: I forgot: I really like your simple goal, to feel more comfortable in your skin and clothes. My friends Claud and Wendy L. are in this game too, and we say that to each other all the time! If only we could feel comfortable in jeans, we'd be happy gals! I like your approach.

Hi Bianca! I want to thank you for writing me such a perfect reply to my question! Not only did you tell me the brand name of the powder you use, but you told me where to find it and that it's not sweet! Perfect for me! I don't like things overly sweet, which is exactly why I haven't gotten into smoothies. I just don't like sweet for breakfast. But in the hot weather they are tempting, and I keep thinking about trying them. If you have the time, would you please send me a few smoothie recipes that you like? I'd really appreciate that.
I just read your profile, and I have a similar approach to dieting. I don't use a fitness app (I try to walk and use some hand weights), I don't follow a program (I'm just applying some basics I've learned from Weight Watchers and trying to eat "clean"--more whole foods and fewer products-- as much as possible), and trying to limit carbs. I figure the simpler I keep my food plan, the more likely I'll be to stick to it. Thanks again!

Lynn! Thank you so much for your kind response. I'm happy to share. Besides the pumpkin smoothie recipe, I have a basic fruit recipe that I make often, adapted from the "Smoothie Shakedown" diet. Google it for a great plan, but don't buy their protein powder- too sweet.

1/4 Cup Pom or pure Cranberry juice
3/4-1 Cup cold water
1/2 - 3/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/4 - 1/2 cup frozen Spinach
2 Scoops Tara's Whey, vanilla
1 TB Chia Seeds
1 TB Flax Oil

Blend and enjoy.

I gave ranges on the measurements because this recipe is customizable. For example, do just 1/2 a cup of blueberries and add 1/2 a banana.

The Flax can be replaced by any healthy oil (Macadamia, Walnut, etc). Sometimes I go for creamy and use 1/4 cup Coconut milk from a can, light or full fat, instead of the oil.

Or go for cherry juice, frozen cherries, and CHOCOLATE protein powder and you have a chocolate cherry masterpiece, especially with a splash of coconut milk.

Hope this helps and I hope you love your smoothies!

Thanks again Bianca! I am going to look for that protein powder. There are two very good health food stores near where I live; one's right in my town.
How are you today? How's getting ready for the holidays for you? I just finished decorating this weekend; I feel so behind. I ordered most of my gifts online; haven't even stepped foot in a mall for the first time at Christmas!
If I win this dietbet game, I'm not going to go too crazy but I am going to reward myself with a Starbucks holiday-flavored coffee, either the peppermint mocha or the gingerbread. I've held off this whole season.
Hope all is well with you.
