Does anyone have any good advice on exercising while wearing a mask? We are still under a mask mandate and I tried going to the gym for the first time yesterday. As soon as I started to breath heavily, I felt like I was just sucking in the fabric of the mask. I have no idea how people have been exercising this way!

The medical paper ones are WAY easier to workout in than a fabric one. Luckily we no longer have mandates here but I figured that one out real quick last year when we did


N94/95s are more comfortable and won't touch your lips. Also they sound plastic inserts to put under your mask so it doesn't touch your nose and mouth.

  • I didn't meet my goal for the first month, not by a long shot, but I've stuck with my exercise goals and I've been conscious of my food choices. Just posting this as a reminder that the scale isn't the only way to track progress! I know I've lost inches on my midsection and bum area and I'm not letting the scale number get to my head! I know it's hard to take 'starting' pictures but it's so worth it! Here's to month 2 :)

Great progress! I wonder if the scale is being stubborn because you gained some muscle. If so, that's good because muscle helps you burn fat faster in the future.

I’ve only just realized that my round one goal will get me back down to where I was at before the holidays. I was already working on my fitness journey before then but let the holidays, really depression, derail me in my goals. Excited to get back to that so I can continue my journey and see more progress.

It's bad here too. When I reach goal for this game, I'll still be above where I was in September. Oh well, back at it!

Exactly the same thing with me. I blame it on the holidays, but it's more about depression and lack of self control and lack of caring about it over the holidays. I'm slowly digging myself back out.
I find things to be a bit better when I take fish oil and vitamin D. Not sure if it's a placebo effect, but I'll take it.
Good luck and if you need a boost, definitely let this big group know, and I'm sure you'll get some good feedback.
