  • I just passed my 6 month goal for this bet. Really crushed it last week, and now I am 7# away from my lowest weight in 15 years!

Low cal fast tomorrow and Friday, cardio every day and 2 light lifts between now and weigh in! Starting to see some definition. Even my shins are getting ripped!

Kate Lynn, I used to get shin splints. Havent had them in a few years. I use a trigger point foam roller on my shins several days per week. I also work on leg strength (squats/leg press/calf raises) to support my body when I run.

I also learned a while back that I was running my slow runs too fast, and my fast runs too slow. To burn the fat, I try to keep my pace slower than huffing and puffing speed. For speed work, it's an all out sprint (or close to it).

The combo of strength training, stretching and listening to my body has helped me avoid shin splints!

Wow, you look great! Look at all those muscles!

  • Yay! So excited to hit 20 lbs lost, especially since I've been sick twice during this fitness journey. Almost halfway to my overall goal :) I'm so thankful that Dietbet has given me the kick in the pants I needed to make this happen.

Courtney, that was 65 mins of a brisk walk at a minor incline. There is 553 calories soaked up in that shirt.

Wowsas! Good for you

Epic Victory for me today: I went out for lunch and left about 1/3 of the food they gave me, because it clearly was too much! This is something I really struggle to do, because I've been taught not to waste food. On the other side, it was a not-so-yummy barley soup, so it was not so difficult! =P But I'm glad I did it, because even if I did, I still am very very full now...

That's such a hard thing to do. Keep going, you'll win this fight

Great job! I struggle with this as well. Rita, I love that philosophy, I'll have to remember that.

  • Made a conscience effort to avoid some unneeded carbs by making my tuna sandwich in a lettuce wrap. #babysteps #progress

NSV today: the pants I bought a few months ago are too big! I keep having to pull them up. So I tried on my old pair (which are a size smaller) and they fit like a glove! Can’t wait to keep going 😊💪

  • Today is finally over. Thank the lord. My workout was cut in half today as I didn’t have much motivation/ and was on a time crunch to go to a few doctor appointments. Didn’t get the news I wanted, and will be doing another round of chemo. Everything sucked today, but I’m glad I was able to at least get a small workout in.

I skipped lunch because my anxiety got the best of me, and dinner I’m not hungry for, but managed to get a large salad in with 480 calories. Think I’ll just go to bed early tonight and allow myself one night to be upset and angry, then pick it back up tomorrow.

Sorry to hear the news. We’re all rooting for you. It’s great that you allow yourself a day to process/wallow and then get back to it. Praying for you. And, I like your husband - seems like a sweetheart. You’re very lucky to have a rock like that. Hang in there!!

My kids have been sick. Which usually means I can’t make it to the gym. But not this year! 2019 is MY year. So I’ve been picking up the kids, cooking dinner, then hitting the gym while my husband feeds the kids. I’ve been getting home in time to help get the kids in bed. It means I don’t eat till after the kids are in bed. But I’m still keeping a 12 hour fast overnight.

It’s not fun. And I hate missing family dinner. But they won’t be sick forever. I mean, right? Please tell me this winter and all the sickness will end some day! Soon please!

Ugh I hope winter and the nasty colds going around will be over soon! I caught a cold from my toddler so I've had to take it easy today.

Amber K.

My kids are sick too. I’ve been hitting the gym after their bed time. Not my fav. :( I feel your pain.

The great sickness of 2019: I caught a cold. No big deal, took a few days off from exercising. Then my son caught a stomach bug and my daughter caught the flu.

Then I caught the stomach bug and my wife caught the flu.

Then I caught the flu...

Then I got an infection in my saliva gland. (I’ve never heard of this happening).

I’m finally getting over everything but I’m quite tired. Family is good except my the flu hit my wife pretty hard and she’s not 100% yet.

Round 2, here I come!
