GOODMORNING and happy Saturday! I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

Today I want to talk about NON food related “rewards”. During my weight loss when I set goals, I wanted to have something to look forward to. When I hit 100 lbs lost I got my hair done! Think of something that you’d love to treat yourself to after this game ends! An Apple Watch? A new outfit? Manicure? New workout shoes? Let me know in the comments!

I want to make some updates to my bedroom, so for every 10 pounds I lose I am making an update. Starting out small like organizing baskets, and lamps, curtains, and moving up to bedside table, rug, painting the walls.

  • I’m going to guess a lot of us struggle with getting enough sleep. In our culture of go, go, go (even when we can't really "go" anywhere) and with so many distractions, it can be very hard to turn it off. 

    Studies show that poor sleep is one of the strongest risk factors for obesity, as it’s linked to an 89% increased risk of obesity in children and 55% in adults. In fact, sleep loss can release a hormone that will make you feel hungry when you’re not. Sleep loss also increases fat storage. 

    Losing weight can help you get better sleep because it can help with sleep apnea, how comfortable you feel, and insomnia that can come from depression related to your weight.

This week have had trouble falling asleep but my kiddo has been letting me sleep past 9 a.m. so can't complain too much.

I feel I get a decent amount, but I wake up in the middle of the night and am awake for about an hour. It is frustrating.

    Starting week 2 of the DietBet! How are we feeling? Even if week 1 didn’t go the way you were hoping, every single day is another day to do this. To do what you’ve been telling yourself you’re to do

    If not NOW then WHEN?! Get your meals set, move your body (even if it’s a 20 min walk), and STOP making excuses. The only thing standing in your way is yourself. Stop expecting perfection and just START. If you think you did something to “mess up” you didn’t. Excuse. Just KEEP GOING

    Let’s kill this week. And when I say that, that is whatever that means for you. No matter what you’re doing just be CONSISTENT. You WILL get to where you want to me

My goal is to drink a 100 oz of water each day. I am participating in a waybetter hydration challenge and having my husband help me as an accountability partner to achieve this goal!

My goal this week has been to keep my water intake up. I do really good when I always have a cup in my hand... last week I did 140 oz a day , just to keep me fuller and I kept busy. So this week, I am trying to keep up the 140 oz and add more walks.. it's getting warmer and the sun is shining, so an extra dose of sunshine is coming my way!! Good luck all with this weeks goals!!
