So for 4 weeks I’ve been logging all my food, I’ve started running and have been running 3 times a week - I’ve never been able to run so that I’m now able to run 4km without stopping was a huge achievement for me - staying under my calorie limit every day, running, and going to the gym 3-5 times a week depending on what I can fit round work, 4 hours of rock climbing/bouldering a week, and a job where I work 12 hour shifts constantly on my feet and running up and down stairs all day, and after 2 weeks I had gained weight?? After almost another two weeks I’m still the exact same weight. So I spoke to my doctor who has sent me for blood tests and I got a phone call this morning to say I have an under active thyroid! I’m gutted that all the time, hard work (and money) I’ve put in have been for nothing! I’ve not even bothered submitting my weight because there’s no point 😔

Holy crap guys, I posted this thinking noone would really see it with the amount of posts here, so I didn't check my notifications until now! Thankyou for the support and positivity :heart: You are all totally right, there's a very good chance that I would have never known something was wrong if I hadn't joined! My next appointment is on Monday and I'll hopefully be starting the hormone medication, it's also the same day Lexis next DietBet starts so I've joined and I'm going to keep trying even if I don't loose the 4%

8 hours since I submitted my weight and still no verification. It's been a while since I've done a diet bet and this one has been disappointing because of the new app. The new app takes ages to load all of the time with the stupid W symbol fluttering at me and when I read someones comments and go back it defaults to the beginning of the news feed again. At that point I give up so dont see what everyone has written. Cant see my actual historic weights in the app just the graph. And now my weight still hasn't been verified when my previous experience was less than an hour. Has been very disappointing.

So a couple days ago I posted about how I was worried I had lost too much weight to win. Well that went out the window. I did still make weight but only by a couple extra pounds. I have come to the conclusion I should not start bets that begin between the 11th-15th of the month. I'm so bloated!!! But I know it will go away in a couple of days. Do any of you ladies gain about 10 lbs when it's that time of the month? This is fairly new for me because due to endometriosis I take medication to stop it and hadn't had one in several years, but something has me all messed up and the last 3 months I have suffered.

Anyone know what the limit on losing is? I've been doing keto and I'm down 17lbs when the goal was 9.something. I thought I had read before they cap you at a 12% loss?

You can't lose more than 3x your goal. 12% for kickstarters, 30% for transformers.

Did you ever just feel like weight loss wasn’t in the cards for you? I’ve tried so hard on this, but, barring a miracle, won’t make it. I logged everything, weighed & measured...only lost 4 lbs (I needed a total of 10). I know, 4 lbs is better than none. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but I’m so discouraged.

4 pounds a month is 48 pounds a year! Keep going!

4 pounds is a great start! Use that momentum and keep going! Losing 10 in a month is incredibly hard, especially if you haven’t been doing it long.

Make sure that your not accidentally letting calories in via cooking oils or juices or tiny snacks. They add up fast!

If you’ve yo-yo dieted in the past, you could also have altered your metabolism and are burning less than you would be otherwise. It needs some time to equalize or you may need to boost it with some extra exercise.

But this isn’t a stopping point! You got the ball rolling. And it all gets easier with practice!

  • Yesterday's dinner was delicious!! Rice cakes (20kcal each) with shredded chicken breasts, beans, letuce, avocado and a few drops of natural yogurt on the top! This recipe is like "Tostadas de pollo" but healthier I think!! :)
