You did awesome! I got a fitbit and have been trying to walk 10000 steps, my legs feel like they will fall off! Hope I can keep this up.

Crystina K.

Thanks Kathy! One step at a time & you'll get there! I do best when I can walk in a pretty area; today was a walk to the lake with my son. :)

Hope you guys are doing awesome! I am REALLY lacking motivation today! I did alright last weekend but it could've gone better. Just need to get back on track! This gloomy day I have here is not making it easy to get off the couch! How about you guys??

Crystina K.

Just take it one day at a time! I hear you on the motivation - yesterday was my son's birthday so after the excitement I really wanted to relax. I wound up doing the workout at 10 pm - it was SO hard, especially at that hour! But I kept telling myself that it was just 12 minutes so I could do it, and I did! (I usually don't take the full 30 sec - 1 min rest periods - that way I can rush thru, get higher intensity, & be back to playing with my son faster!) Give yourself a reward - a bubble bath, cup of yummy tea (no calories!), or permission to indulge in one completely frivolous thing if you get your workout done. Good luck!

Katherine G.

A bubble bath actually sounds awesome! I haven't done that in a LONG time! Too long. Lol I ended up taking a nap then getting my workout in! And I feel MUCH better. It's so easy to get down on yourself on this journey if you mess up or eat too much of a bad food. I've really had to do a lot of self talk to tell myself it's OKAY to do those things and then get back to it asap! One day won't ruin ALL your progress, but sometimes that's hard for me to understand!

And that's AWESOME that you did your workout at 10pm! Dedication for sure! I bet it felt great! Keep kickin' butt! :)

Crystina, thanks for the words of encouragement this week! The cold I got hasn't helped things much, I missed day 4... but I got back on the horse again and did day 5 as soon as I got home today - I can't wait to see the pounds melting away!!

Good job Alicia! Hope you feel better soon! It's hard - I did my workout at 10 pm last night since I got home late. I know there will be some hard days ahead.

Stay strong this weekend guys!! We gotta keep up these good habits even with all the temptations! Just think about how much you'll regret it if you stand on the scale Monday! I'm going to see family this weekend so I'll probably check back in on Monday!

And Happy Mother's Day weekend! :)

How are you guys both doing?! I've been pretty determined so far, but it's only been a few days! The key for me when it comes to eating right is to NEVER let myself get hungry, or even worse, starving! The second that happens, I binge and eat junk food or too much! Try to eat as many healthy things throughout the day as possible. I usually eat like every 2-3 hours! That can be hard sometimes depending on where you work, but it helps so much to not overeat!

Crystina K.

Me too. Starting strong, and hoping I can keep up the momentum for the whole game! For me it's not only not letting myself get hungry, it's also paying attention to what I eat. I started counting calories at the beginning of the year and started losing weight; the month I got overwhelmed & didn't count was the month it snuck back up. I won't avoid everything and will indulge in some treats, but when I'm not logging my meals those treats wind up being more frequent than they should - especially when I'm stressed!

Also hoping I can keep up the momentum on exercise - I think that's the cause of my loss so far this week - first time I've exercised all year. My pedometer helps me really see when I need to improve.

Good luck - let's keep this up! :)

Katherine G.

Yeah I'm a calorie counter, too. I can't say I love it but it's the only way I'll stay on track. Exercise is the easy part for me, it's the not eating junk that I have a tough time with! Lol

Bikini mommy workout day 2 was hard, but I did it. I did workout then ate too much for dinner, will try to use smaller plate next time. Find such a hard time, focusing on kids when I am tired from work, how do yu do it?

Crystina K.

Great job Kathy!! It is super hard, especially with kids!! I can guarantee that there will be days I'm struggling (or failing ????) to do the workout! What usually works for me is if I jump right into the workout as soon as I get home. If I wait even 10 minutes the chance of me working out falls. Same for walks - if I want to go on a walk, I have my smoothie ready to blend, workout clothes laid out & I change & make my smoothie the minute I get home while my husband gets our son ready to go with me I'm his stroller. Sit down for 1 minute and it won't happen!

Wow Crystina that is wonderful how much you walk! I'm just starting, hope to start at 20mins walk and bikini mommy workouts for now. I thought my 45 mins commute was bad. Have a wonderful day :) glad to have more accountability partners, may we all lose weight!!!

Crystina K.

Thanks Kathy! It's primarily due to my commute... With my fitbit I learned that the 2 blocks I walk each way (subway to office) plus the trek thru Union Station is about a mile & a half each day, so that definitely helps. I just got my weekly progress report & this was a bad week for me - only 21 miles. Determined to get that back up! You said it!! I hope we all win this bet!

Trying to find some more friends on here for motivation! Would love to join you 2! I'm a mom of a 7 year old son and am going back to school for nursing.

Somehow I didn't see the notification for this comment! And I only have the one kid, but even 1 makes it more difficult then none. I try as much as possible to get him to join in with my healthy habits!

Crystina K.

Definitely get him going with you - teach him the healthy habits he needs for life now! It was funny. My toddler so far has hated me exercising since I can't pick him up. But yesterday, when I was doing the lunges, he started imitating me! It was absolutely adorable!
