Is there anyone else in this group who struggles with binge and emotional eating? I’m having a really hard time keeping that in check because I’ve had a rough few weeks personally and my anxiety has skyrocketed. Looking for tips and/or accountability buddies. Hope this post is OK this is my first DietBet.

I struggle with emotional eating too.

I watched a video series (tamed series) on yt by improvementpill that really helped me to start forming good habits and replacing bad ones.

Basically any habit you have has 3 parts
1) The trigger (in this case strong negative emotions)
2) The action (binging)
3) The reward (the taste or comfort the food gives)

You can work on changing your action into something more productive (like writing your feelings down or meditating or whatever you see fit) and when you're done with the new replacement action reward yourself immediately with something (piece of gum you like or something that will make your brain feel rewarded but not unhealthy for you) over time it will become natural for you to rely on journaling or whatnot to make you feel better instead of food.

I struggle with binge eating and anxiety as well. Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone :heart: The thing I've learned this week is not to pressure myself with unrealistic unattainable goals and that even after slipping up this weekend I just got back on track Monday instead of giving up like I normally would. I know it's easier said than done but it's about progress not perfection :-) Best of luck and you can do this!

Flavoured electrolyte water helps! Or stevia pops. Anything with flavour distracts me and consuming the liquid itself makes me feel full in the mean time :)

Drink lots of water. Stay busy, go walk around the park or mall. And remember the hunger comes in waves. It will fade again soon
