Ugh, I have 2.5lbs to go, I thought I would be there by now. I'll have to work harder and I may have to weigh in on the last day. Well I'll see what happens. My fingers are crossed that I make it because I tried really hard this past week. During a birthday luncheon at work I even passed up my cupcake and only had the grilled chicken, green beans and salad.

Sometimes working harder will cause water retention. Increase water consumption, reduce sodium, and try not to do any new hard exercises.

I've lost 2.5lbs in the last two days just by increasing my water.

Good job eating well during the birthday, it is hard to eat well when everyone else isn't. Hope the scale starts to reflect your good choices soon!

  • I plateauted and continued to lose inches for two weeks. I was stuck at 200.8 lbs hahaha.

The last two days I've lost about a pound a day.

    So stoked

  • What do you do when you’ve been doing everything right and your weight loss has stalled?

A plateau can be so frustrating, especially when you feel like your doing what you should – or what has always worked in the past.

I gathered some tips from Health.com to help us out. Read the full article for more detail. https://www.health.com/weight-loss/weight-loss-plateau

    1. Do more strength training. More lean muscle boosts your metabolism and it doesn’t leave you as famished as a high-intensity cardio workout.

    2. Start measuring your portions. Overtime we can loosen our estimation of our portions and need a serving-size refresher.

    3. Try eating more! As you progress and workout more, your body actually needs more (healthy) food to burn calories.

    4. Add lean protein to every meal and snack. Protein will keep you full longer and may actually help lower your calorie intake for the day.

    5. Switch to shorter daily workouts. Shorter workouts may be better for weight loss, give you more energy for the day, and give you greater post-exercise oxygen consumption. (You’ll have to read the article for this one! 😀)

Share below if you’ve hit a plateau or if you’re going to use one of these tips to ramp up your weight loss!

I hit a plateau, but I’m not doing any of these things. The body hates losing weight, so it will hang onto the weight and send out more hunger hormones to try to get you to eat. Eventually, if you stay the course and don’t panic, it will let up and start dropping pounds again. You need to set a new set point, it may take a week or two, then you start losing. Not panicking and not giving up is the key. This is usually where I give up, but not this time. I know I’m eating and exercising at a deficit, so the only reason I’m not losing is my body is hanging onto the weight because it’s panicking and trying to not let me starve. Lol. Like that’s a possibility!

I haven’t hit a plateau this weight loss attempt, but I have in the past. I’m trying to incorporate more strength training into my routine right now. I usually do cardio only and while that’s nice in the beginning, it won’t get me to my ultimate goal!

Trying to stay motivated. Haven’t seen a lot of movement on the scale. Just need to be diligent and avoid temptation!

Wattteeerrrrrr i drink at least 1/2 my weight in ounces a day, more if I'm working out hard

Stephanie

Sometimes a day or two at your daily calorie amount instead of at a deficit kick the metabolism back into gear and break a plateau. Good luck!

  • Today is a major milestone for me.

    I've officially lost 101.4lbs since june 24 2020.

Trust the process. Sometimes you'll go up for a bit bc of muscle mass or water retention. If you stick to proper nutrition., lots of water, and move your body every day for at least 20 minutes, you WILL continue to lose.

I did it without being super restricted. I eat real food.

Diet bets have helped me keep going and given me community.

    You got this!

For anyone wondering, I use portion fix from beachbody. I eat whole foods from every group, and I'm vegan. So I eat a lot of carbs hahahaha. No restrictions at all. Just portion control. For people into macros, mine are 30 30 20(fat). I lose around .5lbs a day when my body is in burn mode and then level out for a week or two then drop again.

Well I did it! I’m not super excited about it because I was down almost 20lbs in January and killing it in melt mode, but then I got sick and had to have emergency surgery Saturday evening and I am retaining water at a crazy rate. I have gained almost 12lbs in 4 days. I started this challenge at 294, I was 270.3 when they weighed me at the hospital on Saturday. Today I am 281.6

  • We made it through the first round! Congratulations everyone!

Whether you made your goal this time or not - and you're still in it to win it even if you were shy of your goal this round! - just know that you should be so proud of any progress and, most importantly, making this commitment to your long-term health!

Most of us are rooting for each other as well, and I know that this January round is going to have a lot of winners! That being said, we may not have much for winnings this month - remember that only half of your bet goes into the pot for the round and half is in our final pot for this game. We're in it for the long investment - money and health!

Speaking of money, let's have a little fun! If you were to win the lottery today, what is the first thing you would do?

That is the right attitude, keep on keeping on! You can get there!! Lots of water, low sodium, apple cider vinegar, it will help :)

I did not win this bet, but only because I'm gaining muscle haha. I'll probably hit my goal weight in five days or something.

I am super inflamed today. Tight muscles.

I'm very proud of my progress and grateful for all of you joining me! I've lost 6.6lbs and over 14 inches. So winning!!!
