I have been struggling to eat healthy, and didn't make my goal even though I squeaked by the 6% last month. I went ahead and weighed out just to make it official. Any suggestions for how to handle saboteurs that you live with? My husband likes to cook, but doesn't want to prepare food the way I am trying to eat (WFPB). I'm fine making my own meals, but he keeps giving me guilt trips saying nobody (our picky 5 & 7 year olds and I) wants to eat what he cooks anymore, so I give in and try to appease him from time to time, but that quickly becomes all the time.

I think you need to have a heart to heart with him on how you need his support in your endeavors. I don't think he understands how he's sabotaging you and probably needs ideas on how he can be more supportive.
Good luck! This is a hard situation and I hope he can turn around and become your best cheerleader :)


Be aware that your change is putting pressure on him. He is forced to think about his own habits without having thought about the benefits. In the end you need to make a choice what you want for yourself. For me, the main goal is health and vitality. After some years I don't like unhealthy choices all that much any more. I all comes down to motivation. I he cooks something no one except for him likes, maybe he needs to change? Health can be very tasty. If you get the hang of that it makes things easier... and don't forget: food is not affection. If he wants to treat you he should give what you need. And you can approve of other aspects than his unwanted meals. Communication can help a ton, but your determination to make it is key... and if you go beyond shape, you might gain his inner support because you share the same goal.

  • Omg! I cut it so close with my weigh in. I forgot, until I was with my family at cedar point 2 hours away! We stopped at the store on the way home. I hope this is good enough for the win. Thought I would share so you don't wait until the last moment and look like a hot mess running around Meijer trying to by a scale.

June was a complete bust for me! Not only did I not hit my goal (for the first time all challenge), but I gained weight! 😭. Only 0.4, which I guess is better than it could have been.

But holy cow did I fall off the wagon. Fell off, got trampled, and then decided to take a nap!

What do you do for motivation when all your motivation is gone?

I’m still in it for round 6! And I only have less than 3lbs to lose!!

When I need extra motivation (which I need often) I go on Instagram and look up weight loss before & after photos and it reeeeeeally keeps me motivated.

I also sign up for things to help keep me accountable like a 5k race or something.

I also post the goal weight number I need/want to make (plus my desired measurements because that's REALLY what's important to me, not so much the weight on the scale) EVERYWHERE to remind myself of what I'm aiming for.

I also try to give myself some grace when I'm struggling harder than other days, and remember I'm human, and that this path isn't always straightforward, and it's more about the progress and the journey (life style changes) than anything else.

When I get discouraged I get a body scan so I can see the improvement my body is making even if the number on the scale isn't improving. My goal is based off body fat percentage not the scale, except when it comes to this game.

Well last month did not go as planned. I gained almost 5lbs. I had to have surgery which put me out of commission for a few weeks and I made bad food choices and felt like crap because of them. So here's to next month getting back on track!

This month was tough for me. Made my goal but I didn’t think I would. God was definitely on my side! Now the wait for my pics to be accepted! I really hope they are because I waited a little longer to submit them this time

Last month was awful. Graduations, birthdays, celebrations!! It was not worth it. Now I have to work really hard to meet the goal. The pizza and cake was not worth it. Let's do it this month!!

Feeling much better today , after a bad weekend , I lost the 3 pounds I had put back on , now to just get to the 5 pounds I have left for this round off . This is exactly why I am in the group is to keep myself accountable, in the past I would have just given up , not the time !

I'm in the exact same boat pound for pound! We can do this! We know what to do... Now let's follow through! Ha easier said than done- luckily my best friend is super supportive and I committed to meeting her at our rec center tonight.
Make appts to stick to and plan meals ahead of time- I think that's what is going to make the biggest difference.

Has anyone else gained weight since their last weigh in. I’m struggling to stay focused with my diet as the adrenaline has worn off. Glad I’m doing 6 months to force me to stay with it.

Working out is just more fun then restrictive eating
