This morning, I weighed in at below 160 pounds for the first time in YEARS!!! Still got another pound to go to win this challenge, but seeing that number on the scale today was the motivation I needed!!!

We are heading into the final weekend of this challenge. Final weigh ins will be on January 1-2.

Whether you're going to meet your goal or not, I would love if you would share a Non Scale Victory that you've achieved or noticed since this challenge began back on December 4.

Please post yours below in comments.

Also - if you're up for another round, the next Fitbit Fanatics challenge will begin on January 1. The final weigh in you post for this challenge can be used towards the new one. Here's the link to join: https://www.dietbet.com/games/119374/activity

I’ve been a lot more active which can be challenging because I work from home. Also equally as challenging during the holidays. I’ve been finding new ways to stay active and hit my steps daily!

I love the fact that I was able to attend three Christmas get togethers and stick to my diet with the exception of a couple of dishes. No guilty feelings the next day!! It was all worth it to hear my cousin say to me, “You look great!”

If you successfully logged the number of steps equal to your normal daily step goal or the past seven day average plus an additional 500 extra steps, then comment on this post.

From those who comment, I will randomly select a winner. Only this person will be required to submit verification of his/her steps in order to claim the prize. Verification is as simple as a screenshot from your device's app or website. You can use any type of electronic device to track your steps - Garmin, Polar, Fitbit, Apple Watch, Health Apps on iPhone and Samsung, etc.

You will also need to provide verification of your daily goal, or your seven day average - whichever you used to calculate your step total for the challenge.

I will notify this person via the email associated with his/her Dietbet account.

This person will then have 24 hours to reply with verification of his/her steps. If no word is received by the deadline, a new winner will be chosen.

You have until 9:30 am EST on December 22 to comment. After that, a winner will be chosen.

December 19

I'm going to confess something to you. I've been hitting up the bin of Christmas cookies in my kitchen on the regular for the last week. Augh. Cookies aren't usually the kind of thing that gets to me, but this time of year is soooo hard to always say no, no, no.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I'm committing to you all that I will limit myself to just two cookies a day until Christmas. Then I stop cold turkey. Maybe two still seems like a lot. I assure you in the grand scheme of how many I've eaten the past several days, two is a drastic cut!

But it's December 19. I have just shy of two weeks to get it together and still make my goal.

If you're in this same boat, commit with me today! Just say no to the cookies!!! (Or sweets, or chocolate covered peanut butter balls, or cupcakes, or....well, you get the idea!)

I just have to distract myself with something else. Like instead of eating a cookie, I need to have an orange or even go for a walk around the block to distract my mind.

Nance

Sometimes distraction works and sometimes I just have that piece of extra dark choclate.

If you had a friend who was constantly putting you down and saying thinks like...

    - You can't run.
    - You'll never lose weight.
    - Why do you even bother?
    - You'll never finish that race.
    - That outfit looks terrible on you.
    - (You get the idea....)

...would you still be friends with that person? Now consider this: how often do you say similar things to yourself? Instead of building yourself up, do you often tear yourself down?

Make a habit out of saying negative things about yourself. And you'll start believing it. Example: I can't run a mile without stopping.

Instead of seeing that statement as a negative, shift it to a positive. Instead you could say: I was able to run more than half a mile without stopping!

See the difference? In the negative version, you're downplaying your accomplishment and focusing on what you CAN'T do. And in the positive version, you're building yourself up by talking about how far you were able to run without stopping. Big difference.

Positive thoughts will lead to a positive attitude. And with a positive attitude, you can be unstoppable.

In short, be the sun in the sky not the rain cloud. Love yourself enough to be a good friend to yourself.

What's a way you can take a negative and turn it in to a positive?
