GUYS! The scale FINALLY moved! After literally 6 weeks of it bouncing around within a pound, it finally dropped a little bit! I've started eating big salads with very minimal dressing for lunch instead of my usually leftovers, and I think that's what made the difference since it's literally the only thing I've changed. So here's to hoping the scale keeps moving in that downward direction

  • Well I took today off to extend my weekend... slept in, went to breakfast and did some stuff around my house. Been watching a lot of Great British Baking and have been wanting to try out some stuff so.... this was my project today... it was easier than I expected and therefore dangerous because I LOVE foccacia and its a struggle not to go out and grab another piece.

Enjoyed my treats this weekend (though I actually didn’t make the second meal, the first lasted the whole weekend) and back to it. I have plans to make caramel apples with my sister at Halloween, so I’m back to eating extremely clean until then. Scale up 2 lbs this morning, I suspect that I probably actually gained less than a pound but we’ll see how it shakes out between now and Wednesday!

Yes it’s doubtful you ate 7000 extra calories. Those 2 pounds will come off quickly for sure!

I'm a little ambivalent on the weight I reached today. Today I hit the weight I was the first time I freaked out in high school about being fat. While I'm thrilled that I've lost a total of 50 pounds since finding DietBet, the actual number is weirdly tangled in my brain, and it's bringing up a lot about how unhealthy my relationship with food and weight used to be. Which is weird, because I think of myself as somebody who doesn't care about body image. I think processing this is going to be more of a challenge that I expected. But 50 pounds is 50 pounds, right?

You should be proud that you lost the weight, and more importantly, that you’ve taken control of your actions and are on the opposite lifestyle of high school. You should celebrate your tenacity and discipline!

Celebrate your achievement! Think too about how different life is as an adult. When you were in high school you probably didn't have nearly as much control over your life as you do now. You have power, options, and skills you didn't have as a teen.
