  • Today is the Last Official Day of this Challenge. I now find myself behind the Eight Ball. It definitely gets tougher the further down the scale I go. And there are times I look at myself in the mirror and say, I know I've come a long way, isn't this good enough yet? But alas, I've been here before and I failed by giving up. Not this time. I am determined to work till the very bitter end of the weigh out time period which is Wednesday at 11:59 pm PDT.

This shall include 2 days of Fasting (Today and Wednesday) and hopefully 120 miles of Spin Cycling. 40 per day for 2:40:00 per day. Sounds like a LOT, but I know I can do it. I shall watch the Chiefs tonight on Monday Night Football for my 2:40:00 and then break up Tue and Wed for 1:20:00 in the mornings and 1:20:00 in the evenings.

So... Are you there yet? If Not what last ditch efforts are you willing to attempt to beat this challenge?

Thanks Debbie. It took a lot of work. I’m allowing myself to slow down for the next game. I’ll enjoy a nice meal before weighing in to F&P VII.

Yay, Thomas!!! Happy for you! You, too, Debbie, and thank you. She went home to Jesus today. Always a bittersweet moment for Believers, but I try to focus on the sweet part. Just realized what I wrote and thought ‘literally.’ When I sat with her, the subtle siren’s song coming from the candy bowl was especially tempting. Sweetly comforting, especially during the long nights. I made my choices, knowing there would be repercussions, which I am owning in the moment, and creating my timeline to slay this confounded sugar dragon!

  • 21 Days of Celebration

    Devotional:
    Day 21

“Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do.”

    2 Corinthians 9:8 TPT

    Question:

In what way has your engagement with 21 Days of Celebration, and the work of the Holy Spirit transformed you and your thoughts around celebration?

    Application:

We end with this verse of scripture - where we started. Take your time in a moment of celebration to think who else do you know that would benefit from 21 Days of Celebration with you?

Here’s your opportunity to impact someone else’s life!

Make 2 calendar entries in your planner:

First, a calendar entry noting the invitation to those you have considered to invite for a journey in 21 Days in Celebration with you.

Second, the day you will begin 21 Days of Celebration.

    Prayer:

Our Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the centre on which our lives turn. Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is fulfilled in heaven. We acknowledge you as our Provider of all we need each day. Forgive us the wrongs we have done as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us. Rescue us every time we face tribulation and set us free from evil. For you are the King who rules with power and glory forever.

    You are worthy of celebration!

    Amen.
    -----

    Scripture:

    2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV)
8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

  • 21 Days of Celebration

    Devotional:
    Day 18

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven...

a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;”

    Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4 ESV

    Question:

What does it take to celebrate God in every season you experience?

    Application:

This excerpt from an extensive portion of poetic scripture is actually written by one of the very few people who had the capacity to convey a holistic reference of life and the involvement of God through a vast array of experiences. Make an appointment with someone a generation older than you so that you can ask for their experience of Celebration.

Learn how they celebrated God through highs and lows. (It may be helpful to make an appointment for the conversation so as not to spring the idea on them, especially since the person is older in age)

    Prayer:

God, I always want to learn and to enlarge my capacity to celebrate you and the life I now live. I know you are teaching me in this time. I invite you once again, Holy Spirit, to quicken my heart and mind to celebrate!
    -----

    Scripture:

    Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NIV)
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

Personal Reflection:

A time to gain and a time to lose.
A time to Eat and a time to Fast.

Yesterday I made a weigh out. With FIN 2 WIN I would normally eat yesterday and fast again today. However to position myself best to close this challenge I shall eat again today, even though I did pop up considerably this morning. So it shall be a Time to Eat again today, maybe just not as much as yesterday. LOL.

Debbie R.

Am doing a little fast myself today....Hope everyone has a great weekend but not too good since this game is ending on Monday!! LOL

  • I just dropped 5 lbs. from yesterday to make a weigh out today. I did this by my Fasting and Cycling 2 sessions (last night for 2:30:00 and this morning for 1:20:00). Again I use FIN 2 WIN to help me progress down the scale. I still have 2.4 lbs. to lose here by next Wednesday. Doable, but I still gotta work it! Getting er Done by Rocking the Ugly!

  • I did not weigh-in because I am over anyway. I have a lot of extra swelling and fluid in my arm which I am sure is not helping. I have barely slept. Not to mention taking pain killers constipate you lol. I am extremely bummed that I am probably out of commission for quite a while but I will be up and at it as soon as I possibly can! I go today for a cat scan and Friday to the surgeon to find out more details. Congrats to EVERYONE, whether you made your weight OR close to your goal. Body changes and confidence are the most important.
