Is anyone else struggling with balancing a ridiculously busy, high stress lifestyle while also trying to diet? I’m a full-time college student, a disaster responder, and I have two kids. Not only do I often have little time to plan, shop for, prepare, and clean up after healthy meals, but I’m always exhausted (or still doing homework) by dinner time, and one of my biggest stress relievers has always been food. I’ve lost large amounts of weight before, and won DietBets, but never while also going to school. I feel like I’ve set myself up for failure. Ahhhh!!!

Perfect time to implement Intermittent Fasting! Consciously making an effort to minimize your eating window can be useful in high stress situations because eating becomes one less stressor.

Oh my goodness, everyone! So many fantastic comments with so much encouragement and so many great tips! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! My kiddos are 12 and 16 and can definitely help. They had taken to preparing one meal a week, but I think I’ll get them involved in doing some simple meal prep for the week as well. I meet with a therapist online once a week (because I think everyone should have a therapist—it’s like having someone listen to you talk about yourself for an hour without ever judging you) who can help me with some CBT to overcome the stress eating. IMF is a great idea that I have done before and will try again. Walmart grocery pickup is my best friend, so I’ll go back to leaning on the service a little more. I’ll also check out some of the recipe websites recommended. Just so many great ideas and the encouragement makes me feel so much better!! :heart::heart:

She’s 8 months. I have cut out all sugar, 1 gallon of water per day and I eat a very healthy diet. Oh and I workout 4-5 days a week. I hop on the scale and it just stares at me with the SAME number daily lmao thanks ladies! I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t blaming placing blame where it doesn’t belong

I am only changing eating habits. I never stick with working out and feel like the only way I am ever going to lose weight and keep it off is through food.

I have a 2.5 month old that doesn’t sleep, so I have ZERO energy or time for working out. I’m focusing solely on food intake. And I imagine it won’t be just for the first month of this challenge. It’s definitely teaching me to stay disciplined and focused.

  • Hey Everyone!!


    I haven’t spoken much in this chat but wanted to do a post based upon my observations. I am starting to see people get frustrated, throw in the towel, and get super discouraged. I want to tell you NOT to give up! Small personal story about myself, I lost 130 pounds in a bout a year and two months. I have had my good days where I would jump for joy, and awful days where I wanted to throw the scale. I had weeks of when I lost a lot of pounds and weeks where I did everything right and still gained. Regardless of what you’re seeing, whether it is 9 pounds, 3 pounds, 1 pound, or even a tenth of a pound lost, a huge shout out to you. We all joined this bet because we saw something within ourselves we wanted to change. You should be proud of yourself no matter what the outcome. You took a step in the right direction, that within itself is a win. In my eyes, we are all winners. I’ve had every frustrating moment in the book with regards to weight loss and I still eventually reached my goal. Whenever you are doubting yourself or feel guilt about something you may of ate or done, just remember that this too shall pass.

Share with me how you make sure that you drink enough. I'm ok with it during warmer months but now it is so hard. I drink water before every meal, but other than that I keep forgetting. What works for you.?

I carry my water cup everywhere I go. I never leave home with out it. But I do drink more water when the weather is warmer too!

I make hot tea or hot water with lemon throughout the day. There are so many flavors of tea that there’s bound to be something you like well enough to have a cup or two a day.
