I was down to .8 to my goal.... today I get on the scale and I’m up 2lbs! I’ve been eating within my calories. Only change I’ve made this week is I went from 30 minute daily workouts to an hour daily workouts. Please tell me this is water weight?!?! And if so how do I get rid of it before weigh in?!?! Help! Lol

  • I don’t feel comfortable sharing anywhere else, but here’s my progress so far. The left pic was taken Aug. 24, and the right taken Sept. 10. I have a longggggg way to go, but there’s about 14lbs difference here. We’ve been doing keto and DDP yoga. I’ve met my goal by a couple of pounds, but I’m scared aunt flow is going to throw me off. Really want this to be my first diet bet win!

All staff reported back to school this week (just teachers, not students yet) and there has been way too much tempting food at all our Professional Development meetings! I need to resist it more. While I haven't gained, I also haven't lost anything since Sunday.

Keep a filled water bottle on you, and your bag stocked with yummy healthy treats for throughout the day to grab! Stay strong!!!

  • I'm usually not posting but I just came across this old image on the right and thought it would be nice to share. I kept trying to loose weight over the past years but only ended up gaining more. I started again this February and went from 302 to 255lbs so far! I think the most important is to find what works best for yourself to make it a lifestyle, not a diet. I am now living low carb & intermittent fasting and work out regularly. Don't give up when you didn't stick to your plan! I had two bad months and gained weight again after 3 months. Never give up, it's worth trying again and again. Dietbet is a great support and helps a lot to keep myself accountable, it's an amazing group of people :) Thanks to all of you for sharing your stories and thoughts!

Thank you so much everyone :) For the ones asking: I do the 16h fasting & 8h eating version, usually eating from 11am to 7pm.

So beautiful!! Keep up the great work!

Ok! After talking about it for about a month, I actually have committed to intermittent fasting, and I’m loving the flexibility of my food! I’m an early bird, so I do 7-4. I actually feel so much more energized. I had read 9 hours was good when you’re new, and a little easier for females (I believe hormone wise), so I’m so happy with it! Any tips and tricks to ensure I stick with it? It’s almost been a week, and I’m finally working with something that seems sustainable for me! Days I have to eat later (or want to) I plan on adjusting my hours to suit (or obviously making an exception on occasion if needed. Please share your feedback for those of you with experience and success. Thank you!

I just started 2 weeks ago. I am doing 10-6. I feel so great! Actually kinda surprised.. and not sure how I feel about 'skipping' breakfast. But I am willing to give it a chance

Mishey5

Are you drinking water when you fast?

  • Happy Transformation Tuesday everyone, I started my first DietBet in January not knowing how in the world would I lose 14 pounds in 4 weeks. I did it and every month I have lost so now I’m down 131 pounds. I thought it would take me a year just to lose a 100 pounds so I’m definitely excited to see where the end of the year where I’m at. I’m shooting for half my weight by the end. But battling the Holidays will definitely be a tester for me. So I’m mentally preparing myself now. IG is @warrior_jessica_slashes_fat

I've lost quite a few Dietbets, I've won a couple. I'm trying again. Has anyone gone through a streak of losses and then got back on track? Do you have recommendations?

That's me in a nut shell. I'm not giving up. That's not an option. Every loss has taught me something. What worked what didn't. What drove me crazy and what motivated me. So I'm counting those lost games as a victory too. Biggest mistake I ever made was not coming in here when I was feeling frustrated, eating crazy, being lazy, giving excuses for making dumb choices, or unmotivated. So I'm going to be in here everyday all the time. Live this tribe.

Smurf

Track your food officially daily (e.g. my fitness pal). I found that helps me a lot!

I had lost just over 20 lbs over Winter and gained back every single pound late spring. Starting over AGAIN is frustrating but I know once I get my stride back and get back into the habit of eating better that I am going to feel so much better about myself. Happier even. As someone who struggles with depression is amazing what a good diet and some excersize naturally does for your mental health, self image, and energy. First I have to get my stride back.

Totally with you on this. It’s really hard when you’re dealing with depression to stick to the program, but once you do you feel so much better. Props for having the courage to get back into it!

Smurf

Thanks for sharing Janel. I lost 30lbs last year and am starting over! I can’t believe how good I felt (physically, and mentally) being healthy. Let’s do this!
