Late to the game. I had done well with 6 month transformer last year but injured my ankle and gained everything back and then some 😞. I underwent surgery at end of April. I hope to be cleared to return to full weight bearing without a walking boot in June, but until then I'm hoping to get my meal planning back in gear and do what activity I can.

Aw man rotten luck with your ankle!! But I’ve found food is the main weight controller, though of course movement helps a lot. But I’ve managed to lose solid amounts just through eating well.

Full disclosure, never in 35 years have I liked fruits or veges. Fruits is a texture issue. Veges is a taste issue. But I'm trying! How can I cover up the taste of veges without adding a million calories?

Have you tried different vegetables? Also try them different ways. Some vegetables I only like raw and some I only like cooked—and some I don’t like at all!

Yep, roasting in oven is easy and adds an additional layer of natural sweetness especially to root veggies. Don’t overcook them, I grew up thinking I hated veg just because my mom would cook it to death. Now I sautée lightly with garlic and all is delicious. If you really don’t like them, try some Indian recipes? Indian cooking is a lot more than just curry, and they have many vegetable based dishes that have amazing flavor added through spices.

It’s good to take exercise breaks!! Don’t push yourself to work out every day. Much better to take some days off and let the muscles rest and rebuild. If you really want to be working out every day, go for different muscle groups!

When I’m left alone, I tend to run for the kitchen and make myself an epic snack… erm meal. This is on top of my other meals 😩. I plan to go very light on dinner and had a killer workout to make up for it.

What do you think would be a good way to re-train myself to not binge eat when people leave the house?

I track my food otherwise I will just eat everything. This is the longest I've gone without binging. I use MyFitnessPal and I haven't missed a day in five months. I track every single thing even on the bad days. I feel less anxious now about food.

I’d also try to think about what is it about people going out that makes you feel the desire to run to the kitchen? Is it a feeling that if nobody is watching the calories ‘don’t count as much’? I used to have this issue, like dieting but eating when people couldn’t see, and it helped me to clarify with myself why I was dieting. Not to impress my mom or my husband, but to feel better in my own body. I tried to make myself accountable to me and it really helped. Also make sure you’re not undereating the rest of the time because intaking too few calories during regular meals leaves you vulnerable to cravings

  • Excited! This is my second transformer. It overlaps with my first one by six weeks. This is the first time in 7 years I'm back in the 150s and also the longest I've gone without binge eating. I am grateful to the many people on my first transformer for their encouragement and support. I find posting regularly helps to stay motivated and accountable. Good luck to everyone :)

There is a setting for both that and your weight on your profile page. It defaults to private. Which is good because I often picture the judges having a good laugh at my bed head in weigh-ins.

  • By the end of this game I want to wear these size 11 shorts comfortably. I just bought them yesterday and they feel like a corset and everything is spilling over.
    I am in another transformer which will be done end of June so this game will help me keep going. I made my first personal goal, having lost almost 30lbs, but I decided I want to push myself even further. I'm hoping to lose another 15 or 20.

I took a little break after my last DietBet and gained back a few pounds. So I joined a few transformers and kickstarters to keep me on track!
