I am noticing when very stressful things happen my brain immediately tells me I need junk food. I'm working on this. I woke up tired this morning but I'm going to get dressed and go to the gym anyways. It's crucial for me to move my body and get some 🚶‍♀️ steps.

I had so many revelations reading a book called, "Life is hard, food is easy." It's about controlling emotional eating and figuring out why you do it. It's pretty much the reason I discovered 'why' I drank alcohol. Now I rarely ever have any. Because I don't 'need' it.

Thanks everyone

Over the past year, I've gained 15 kg (about 33 pounds). I can't seem to lose any of it. I hope this app can help me. I'm feeling very discouraged, especially because I have very little time to dedicate to fitness.

Don't feel discouraged. Even if you can't work out (like me right now), focus on improved nutrition, intentional eating, drinking water and no snacking. You will lose weight. Watch.

DietBet Grace

Nutrition is significantly more effective than exercise when it comes to losing weight. Look up a "TDEE Calculator" (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) and it will give you an idea of how many calories you need to maintain and lose weight. Tracking your food can be very helpful. Just take it one day at a time and you will start to see a difference. You've got this, Carla!

  • Welcome everyone!

We are entering the final push before Summer! Are you ready to crush your goals?

Now is the time to submit your initial weigh-in and take a moment to set some personal goals for this game. Once you've determined what your goals are (drink more water, workout goals, practice gratitude, sleep routine, etc), the key to success is having a SOLID PLAN in place and studies show that putting it in writing helps. I love using a planner and checklists as tools to help me stay on track :)

Plan your meals - Write down what you're having each day and have the ingredients on hand. Or do some meal prep! This leaves no reason why you have to go out or grab something quick that may not be as healthy.

Plan your workouts - Treat them like work and show up even if you don't want to go. Motivation might wear off, but discipline and consistency will get you results!

Track your water intake - Water is essential and we have to drink it! For some of us it comes naturally but for others, it's a chore. Find a way that helps you enjoy it and make it happen!

Track your food - It's easy to forget about those little "grabs" we do when we see snacks on the table. This will keep it real. Whether it's writing it down or just taking photos, the accountability really helps!

Get enough sleep - Getting adequate, quality sleep is an important part of a healthy weight loss plan.

Have fun and relax - Self care is important too!

Is your plan in place? What are some of your goals and what is your plan to make sure you accomplish those goals?

Feel free to share questions, comments, and inspiration along the way. We’re all in this together :)

    Good luck everyone!

Thank you for this reminder and for validating the struggle that some of us have, even with drinking water. I have an acronym that my identical twin and I developed when we used to diet together that I will use for this game (TWINS):
Track: Track by collecting data on health outcomes (weight, food intake, movement, sleep, etc)
W: What were the weightless wins? These are qualitative wins that we shared out loud to acknowledge them too
I: Intermittent fasting, I use a 16:8 schedule
N: Nutrition, improve on the quality of nutrition day by day, not all in one hit.
S: Support, that's why I'm here. I have no one to walk this journey with me, so I am joining your community for 4 weeks. Thank you for having me.

DietBet Grace

We're happy to have you here! That is such a great acronym! It really is all about balance, consistency, and staying accountable. You've got this!
