Hello everyone!

I joined DietBet today and I am excited as well as nervous. I have struggled with weight since I was in middle school and it has held me back from really enjoying life to the fullest. The last few years I gained a significant amount of weight from the stress of a long bad relationship. After we ended things officially, I spent the next 3 years convincing myself that I did not care how I look and why even try. I had officially given up on myself. Last year I met my amazing and supportive fiance who has embraced me for who I am and helped me come to be happy with life and myself. The only thing holding me back from fully being happy is my health. I am desperate to be excited about this wedding and I want to enjoy the process. I want to be happy to take wedding pictures and be proud of who I am. My biggest fear is that the wedding day will come and I will not want to take pictures(it had been many years since I have wanted to really look at myself in a picture).

I am more motivated than I have been in years and I really hope this will be the push to keep me on track.

I fully am behind you on feeling better about yourself. But remember that you do have to base your feelings about yourself on more than appearance-based criteria (im sure you don't, but also saying it for anyone else struggling) Boobs sag, wrinkles grow, skin gets spotty, and you want to be proud of yourself regardless. I think if you were to keep to a routine and a healthier 'diet' (used in the proper way to mean a way of eating in your lifestyle) the mere pride in yourself for making and keeping changes, will make you glow and be radiant regardless of your weight. When we aren't proud of ourselves, or feel shame, we slouch, look down, hunker into ourselves and deflate. No matter the weight or muscle, it looks bad. When we are confident and proud, we stand up straight, smile, beam, and spread out- which is all mega slimming. It transcends the mere visual of our bodies, so feel that pride in yourself and glow!
