Breaking through plateaus with intermittent fasting

Interesting blog. I've experimented with fasting a bit in the past, although not for weight loss reasons. I've always been intrigued by religious fasting, although I never really understood it. I don't think IF something I'd want to do regularly, as I'm too interested in cooking and meal planning (and eating) to miss out on too many meals. I also read a blog a while ago about how IF may affect women and men differently, which sort of gave me an out when I wondering if I should give it a shot. But I've found it interesting reading about others' experiences with IF. I hope it helps you stay focused, and that you can keep a good balance and find sustainable practices to help you keep off the weight you've lost.

Thanks for thoughts. If what you are doing now works for you, I say, go for it! I probably wouldn't be doing this if I had continued to lose at a pace that I felt was not glacial! :)

I'd just qualify your comment in general for people who have tried other things but continue to have difficulty losing over time, that you might at least try something as an experiment before deciding it won't work for you. This is generally my attitude towards this. I will give almost anything a 2-4 week shot if I think there's any chance it will help if other more conventional approaches haven't worked. Then again, this is probably the most "radical" thing I've tried, so I can't talk that much. ;-)
