Day One's always a little bit fun, isn't it? It's filled with hope. I love being hopeful. That, and healthy eating isn't super challenging for one day. In fact, day two's still kind of fun. So, that's my mindset. I can almost always make ONE good choice. I can make one good choice for breakfast, one good choice for lunch....just for ONE day. I can commit to work out for ONE activity for ONE day. Guess what? So can you.

I think resolutions would have a 5000% higher success rate if everyone broke it into much, much, smaller..........wait for it.....BITE SIZE goals. That, and accepting that NOW IS an excellent time. There is no such thing as a perfect time. But, isn't it an excellent decision right this minute to live a healthier lifestyle?

So, part of my new habits is to write a daily blog. First with some thoughts from the perspective of a cerified life coach (don't worry, not all crazy cheery, it's all about what I'm actually experience, but mindful is SO critical for our success!) Hope your journey will be filled with committing to ONE great choice at a time.

Today's Meals:

1. Millville Protein Granola Bar, 90 c Fiber square, and hot black tea. Oh, TOTALLY was going to cook a yummy meal. Ah, but Monday happened. Grabbed not only ONE item BUT two packaged items for breakfast. However, could have selected worse items, so went with it.

2. Lunch out--already had been scheduled. Had a diet Coke. Looked at all of the yummy lunch specials and items that had fries for a side. Selected a grilled chicken salad with dressing on the side. Since the chicken was flavored in a wing sauce, I didn't need any dressing. Did not eat anything off of my husband's plate, nor did I order a beer like the rest of the table. We sat outside, it was lovely! Uh, I was hungry by the time we got home from lunch.

3. Still rallying back from my package breakfast. Had leftover chicken and pork tenderloin, as well as tons of veggies. Made a stirfry with the protein, brown rice, shaved brussels, broccoli, portobello mushrooms, and there were supposed to be carrots. Roasted the carrots before going on a walk with my girls. Um, turned the oven off and figured they'd be okay in the oven until we returned. Upon our return, they had morphed into some barely identifyable shrively (not sure that's a word) items that resembled carrots. My daughters declared them a fail and we laughed. We tried to eat them. Yeah, not so much. Stir fry was delish.

4. We have gotten in the good habit (at least I hope it is) of having fruit for our dessert. Tonight I was full of protein and fiber, so passed on dessert.

5. Girls were awesome and walked 6,500 steps with me. I was going to do Zumba at the gym, but class didn't start until 7:30. Like spending the evenings with my family, so they said they'd join me. It was wonderful. Always great to get outside.

It's a wrap. Day one. Damn hungry right now. Just drinking some water and heading to bed. Wonder if I'll dream about food? xo TAG
