This past winter I found myself in a funk. During that time my sister gave me a goal: to say YES to every invite. It has definitely been worth it. 

My roommate found a Groupon for boxing classes and asked me to join her. At first I was pretty reluctant, asking myself "What am I getting myself into"? Last Wednesday was our first class. It was fantastic! And afterwards, I was fantastically sore! What DID I get myself into!?

It has been quite some time since I felt such soreness. I am fairly athletic and work out regularly, but with each new sport comes with a new set of sore muscles! It was a tough Friday (Second day after leg full body day!). I could NOT do stairs. I could barely get up from my chair. Saturday was the second class, and I was absolutely terrified going into it. My legs were burning and trying to make it through another intense workout was unimaginable. But by the end of the class, I felt amazing! Once my body was warmed up again, I felt great! And conquering the challege was even greater! Even if the soreness is back again today!

Next time you find yourself sore beyond belief after working out, don’t hesitate! Don't let it get to your head. Don't psych yourself out. Get back into it and do it again, just as intensely as the first day! It will get better, you will feel better, and you will be so much happier knowing that you made it through.

Tonight will be my third class, with 17 more to go, and I can't wait! I will not be afraid this time.
