I only started running three months ago with Active's Couch to 5K.  I knew I wanted to lose of my weight (40) before I attemped this.  The program went well, I used it on some different places, Niagara Falls and Central Park in NYC.  I made a collection of photos of places I ran on our exercise room wall. I thought I was really ready for my first running 5K.  I have done tons of 5Ks, just never as a runner.

The first mile was horrible.  Allergy problems, Adrenaline, and my heart pounding, it took awhile to get my grove back.  I came to the realization I am slow as molasses.  As I was closing in on the last mile, an older woman runner, who was doing the 10K with same finish line, yelled at me, it was not how fast I was going, it that I was there running.  This I needed to hear. I had stayed away from running in my 30s & 40s, because I had feet injury problems in my 20s.  Now that at 50, almost 50 pounds slimmer that I was a year ago,   (Thank You Diet Bet & Fitbit), this is a dream some true.

I keeping pinning things on Pinterst to keep my motivated. In my dreams, I am running the entire Ukrops Monument Avenure 10K in March.  A real dream would be to do the Nike Women's Half Marathon in Washington D.C. April 2016. A girl can dream, can't she.

I would love to know what my split time when I lose the next 50 pounds.  Yeah, I am a 50 year old woman that has only been running for three months and I am slow.  But I am lapping anyone who I laying in bed on a Saturday Morning.
