Years have passed since I started struggling with my weight...
Until now, the only effective method to lose weight was a really strict diet with no carbs or fat on it, I just ate green vegetables, a little bit of lean meat (preferably white meat) and drank lots and lots of water.
This method was effective and made me lose like 1-2 kg a week (2-4 lbs), but it also make me lose my energy and part of my hair. Once I hit my goal it was impossible to mantain wight in time, and I just ended bouncing back at my atarting weight or worse :(
I don't usually overeat, I just eat normally (about 1400-1800 kcal daily), with a once in a while (in a week or more often) temptation failure, but I don't exersice at all, since every time I try to exercise I end gaining weight from muscle gain and no fat loss at all.
Two months ago my brother introduced me to P90X3 program. I started it without making a big change on my meals, I tried to keep my portions the same but replacing some carbs with vegetables. And the result after 30 days was the same as always, I ended gaining 7 pounds for muscle gain. Normally, at this point I would stop exersicing, but the was something about Tony Horton (P90X3 creator) that kept me motivated and going on with the program.
During the second block of P90X3 I just stumble upon DietBet webpage and suscribed to two games a kickstarter and a transformer one. Since i hate losing money this would keep me motivated to keep going.
Since I was more motivated than usual (P90X3 really improves your energy) I started doing some other kind of activities, like, running, hiking, climbing, etc. And this extra calories burning started to make some effect on my weight lost.
I finally started dropping weight without starving and eating normally (plus an extra water intake :P) thanks to P90X3 program for keeping me moving, and thanks to DietBet for keeping me away from temptations.
I hope I could mantain this in time because I'm feeling great. I have the enough energy and finally losing weight without killing myself.
Thanks a lot Tony Horton and DietBet :)
PS: I suck at sports. I run at a 7min/km pace, can't keep it up straight for a excersice session, but if I need a rest I take it, and then keep going. Nobody says it is easy, but if you keep going you will get better :)
