I did a Chris and Heidi Powell dietbet at the start of the year. My mother died the day after I started. (I didn't win that dietbet.)
I did a couple of other dietbets in between, then started another Chris and Heidi Powell dietbet a couple of days ago, because I am carb cycling and I like them. And my dad is now in hospital, probably dying, although they don't actually know what is wrong with him yet.
Sounds stupid, I know, but I almost feel like this game, these hosts are cursed. If I quit will he live?
The irony is my parents have been divorced for 40 years and have nothing to do with each other and even live in different states, so it's not like dad is pining for my mother or anything.
Well, me staying fat doesn't help anyone. But it is hard to concentrate on losing weight right now.
