This was the first week of IF (intermittent fasting) eating in an 8 hour window and fasting for 16 hours. I have to say I truly enjoy this way of eaating. My stomach stopped hurting. I didn't binge at all at night because I didn't eat past 7 pm. It was great.

Specific thoughts:

There was one night that I was hungry and really tempted to eat but it was after 7 pm. I texted my accountability partner and told her I was struggling with not eating and asked her to pray for me. I also prayed myself and asked God to keep me from eating. I then drank a cup of hot tea and was fine the rest of the night.

I treated Wednesday as a free day for calories but still ate only within my 8 hour window. I'm not doing that again. That is the one day I overate. I did not like how that made me feel. I did not binge on junk food, it was more on 2 meals that were really good, but it was too much. I'm more or less doinng away with free days.

With that said, tonight is birthday celebration night at church which means dessert. Even though my calories are almost done for the day and it will be past 7 pm I am allowing myself a treat if there is anything that looks particularly good, like peanut butter flavored something or lemon flavored something. Those are my two main weaknesses for sweets.

I need to watch my calories a little better. I did fine. I ate probably on average 1450 calories but I want to cut that down to 1350 calories except for tonight if I end up eatinng dessert.

Yesterday I was at someone's house at 10:30 AM and she offered me some rice. I could have said no but I alaways say no and she is starting to get a little offended. It's the culture (I live in West Africa) so I went ahead and ate 30 minutes early. I lost weight yesterday though so I guess it wasn't that bd.

All in all I'm very happy with my first week of really changing how I approach dieting. I stuck with it which is an amazing thing.

Here's to a good 2nd week of change!
