Well I've completed my first week and even with a weekend away in the middle of it I managed to stay on track and lose 2lbs (what it is in my head) or 1.8lbs anyway (as DietBet's calculation including tenths keeps reminding me!). My plan is to try to lose 2lbs per week regardless of the targets, as then I will have basically reached my target weight by the end of the challenge. I suppose if I didn't then I could do another DietBet challenge straight after, but I'm pretty determined to lose the weight this time, so I'd rather just get it sorted as soon as possible!

I do think things will get harder as I go on though - the main change I've made so far is really cutting down on alcohol and sugar, but I do need to get my diet in order too. Also I do need to be able to socialise as well as losing weight/keeping it off - it's really tempting to stay in all the time to avoid temptation, particularly alcohol! Luckily a few of my friends like cycling too so I can at least meet up with them for a bike ride rather than just a trip to the pub!
