Things have been smooth going still....Nothing outrageous to report.

Some interesting things have been noted in the last couple of days - reminding me of where things can go right (and horribly wrong).

1. Lifting is essential. I'm not a fan of the gym (and I don't need the gym to do HILT) but the weights and HILT showed a dramatic change in my body. Esp the stomach, thighs and arms. Yes...I was sore and the gym gets my telecommuting butt out of the house. But now I remember that the feeling of 'fat' didn't come from the scale - it came from the loss of muscle and core strength. Before, I'd let the scale drive me crazy. So - the 4 days week min for weight and HILT are in. I'm already starting to see a resemblance to my shape in the profile pic...Yay!

2. Variety keeps me interested - I would probably give up if I spread myself with negative talk about how 'only this XYZ' is the key to staying healthy and in shape. Wed and Thurs were about weights and HILT. Friday - a nice 5 mile walk/run. Today and Sunday - another round of HILT - with Sunday incorporating yoga after the gym. Monday - another walk/run. Tuesday - who knows - yoga, HILT, or both...maybe even a rest day? So there's routine but variety in the routine. The yoga is super expensive. Once my monthly pass ends - I'll be back to once a week. Maybe Tuesday is spa day??? But I may have my HILT/weights Tues - Fri, giving me time on Sat and Sun for yoga and running.

3. I had my first night out to eat since the start of DietBet. And I ENJOYED my meal - with dessert. I plugged in what I wanted (and a little extra to keep honest) in MFP. Jogging on that day help....I had extra calories to spare. I did eat my entree past satisfaction - need to be more mindful of this next time. Got pretty full! But it made me feel human to embrace the balance and not be overly obsessive with it. One meal - esp a healthy one at a restaurant that uses fresh ingrideints is fine - it's a lifestyle!

4. Fiber and water! OK...had the water down. But the fiber - from my salads, apple, to my Fiber One cereal. Man....getting the bowels to move is essential. When I ran HEAVILY during my last major weight loss (too much cardio and not enough lifitng) - I had MAJOR movements. The fiber, water and exercise kept my mid section trim - even with the fibroids I carried around.
