I've lost 22 pounds on my very first DietBet and was concerned I would not hit my 4% but completely blew it out of the water and lost 6%.   I've been a big girl my whole life with the exception of a brief period as a teenager and then again in 2007 after an RNY Gastric Bypass in 2003.  I lost 100 pounds after the bypass but was in a marriage from hell.  After the divorce in early 2007 I dropped another 50 pounds and was in a normal weight range.  I loved how I looked and felt....then I met "the man of my dreams".  We broke up after a 5 month relationship and I went back to my old "friend" comfort food.  When I joined Diet Bet I was back up to...embarassed to say... 354, just 56 pounds shy of my pre-bypass weight.

Like a lot of morbidly obese folks I am a big fan, no pun intended, of EWL.  I thought, if it works for them then why not me?  I ordered Chris Powell's book "Choose to Lose" on my ereader and launched my own transformation.  Little did I know that Carb Cycling is the only weight loss method that has ever worked for me with the exception of surgery.   It's not really like a diet at all and I don't call it a diet.  It's a permanent way of life and I will eat this way until the day I die!  It's truly a miracle, I wish I had a better word that miracle but I can't think of one.  I know I will never meet Chris or Heidi but I hope some how they read this and know that they have changed my life.  I am so very, very, very excited for the future, for my continued weight loss, and most of all the transformation happening as I allow myself to become the person I was born to be.

A trigger moment for me was watching Georgeanna's EWL episode.  She talked about the happiness that happened to her as she lost the weight and became healthy.  I wanted what she had and knew I was worthy of the hard work.  I have also been addressing my food addiction for several months now and attending a 12 step program through my church.  My faith is the core of who I am and I know the main reason this is working is that I put my faith in Jesus Christ to change my attitude toward food and health.  He has given me the strength I didn't have before.  "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me."  Phil 4:13

Let the future begin!
