I'm dejected this morning.

I have a weird schedule, and work from home, both challenges I'm up for overcoming in this process. But traveling is part of the job, and this weekend was one of those weekends. Granted I could have done better while I was away, but I was at least cognizent of my choices the whole time which I thought would be enough.

In the 4 days before I left, I went to the gym every day and watched what I ate like a hawk. I used the MyFitnessPal app and was under my 1200 net calorie goal every day. I thought that would be enough to set me up for success for the week, even though I knew I wouldn't be able to do quite as well on the road.

But then I went away for just 3 days, and came back today having GAINED a pound overall from last week's initial weigh-in. I'm farther from my goals than when I started.

It's crazy what you can undo in such a short amount of time when you slip up just for a second. The foods that we're offered in our lives don't leave much room for error. I'm up for this challenge, and glad I'm staying off the road for the next couple of weeks, but I didn't realize how bad the travel had been for my weight until this morning.

It's time to get back to the grind.
