As another non-diet person, may I make a suggestion? Just write down everything that you eat. Not most of what you eat, but ALL of it. Don't try to change the way you eat, but write it down. As you go try to figure out how many calories are in the food you've eaten. Then google a calorie burn calculator to figure out how many calories your body uses just to exist. Compare the numbers and try to adjust accordingly. And, try different vegetables prepared different ways to see what you like. Roasted vegetables taste very different from raw ones. You might be surprised that you like something.
