And the scale FINALLY dropped! In my last post I mused that I was starting to worry that even though I was recording calorie deficits every day, the scale was being stubborn. Well, yesterday she dropped a whopping 2.5 lbs! And it's still at around 2 lbs down today, which means its likely a real drop and not a daily fluxuation. Woo hoo!
One method of maintaining motivation that I have is a spreadsheet where I record my calories in every day (even special/off/cheat days) and what the calorie difference is between that and my calorie goal for the day AND the difference between that and my maintenance calorie needs. The reason for this is that many days, even if I go over my stated calorie goal, I can still see that I'm making progress overall if I was under my maintenace calories for my current weight. I'm still at a net deficit, even if it's a little slower pace than I intended. Turtle, you are my dieting spirit animal. :)
Today's Goal
Because my SO and I have been sick this week (and to avoid the crowded first week of January at the gym) we took the week off from most exercise, so my goal for today will be to get in a walk with the dogs and a little yoga at home.
Yesterday
Under Calorie Goal: No
Under Maintenance Goal: YES
Exercised: No
