Well, I accomplished it; I stayed off the scale the whole week.

Right now I’m going through all sorts of emotions with the pending approach of my scale day (Saturday----Tomorrow morning).

EXCTIED: to see what it says & NERVOUS: B/C this has been an interesting week.

Tuesday was the husband’s birthday and I strayed from my pre-planned eating to both restaurant and takeout food which I did not prepare, BUT for lunch I had 2 plates of lettuce, tomato, and red onion (even though the bread sticks were taunting me, I did not touch them) and for dinner I had steamed vegies, brown rice and house tofu (tofu was sweet and salty so I know it was not “healthy” and it contained gluten) Exercise: Worked for hours lifting, climbing the ladder etc.

Wednesday-was my daughter’s 30th birthday and her last here is the states before she moves to Australia. I took her to breakfast at her favorite restaurant, BUT I got gluten free banana pecan pancakes, hold the butter, powder sugar and whipped cream, with a side of fresh fruit. I did use the maple syrup sparingly. Exercise: 12,233 steps/5.27 miles/14 flights of stairs--- outdoor walk and elliptical

Both Days-Bring on the birthday cake and ice cream, BUT I found a coconut ice cream that I ate over 3 days so I also ate a treat on the special days.

Thursday-A work colleague called and asked to go to lunch. ANOTHER restaurant, UGH!  BUT I gladly ordered a bowl of lentil soup. I was so happy to see they offered vegetarian items and I even found a vegan item.  (The menu proudly boasted the broth was vegetable, not beef!) Exercise: 11,548 steps/4.97 miles/24 flights of stairs--Walk to and from work to the train station (really .03 from 5 miles! Ugh!!!)

Friday-Ahhh, I’ve made it to Friday, BUT tonight is the family dinner out to celebrate the birthdays…Here I go again, I’ve looked at the menu online and there is a vegie option. I’m worried about all the salt for the weigh in the next morning though.

DETERMINED: Whatever the scale says tomorrow morning,

I will not die……….I will tie up my shoes and get a hike in!

BUT later Saturday I’m going to see my LA KINGS play hockey, and who knows what goodies will tempt me there! After all hockey and beer go together so well!

This is real life and the weight loss battle that goes with it.  I'm finding lifestyle changes to make it work. You can too!
