Okay - so a plan for the next 8 days to get to goal. Memorial Day weekend brought some couch sitting and beer swilling. It was a great few days, but now time to also enjoy activity and the flush of hydration and healthy eating!

The biggest hurdle is going to be going away this weekend to do some artistic work with a friend of mine. She's definitely into the wine and sweets and part of the attraction for her of going on retreat is indulging in food, sweets, and liquor. It's going to really take something for me to stay grounded in a bigger intention. It will help if I pack veggies & oatmeal for meals and also simply stay mindful as I eat my portion. Often, I feel that "skinny girl death stare" when I'm eating an appropriate portion size and others are eating a platter or having 2nds and 3rds. I don't want to make this a comparative situation, so it will be important to eat slowly, put down my fork in between bites, and relish what I'm eating as well as allowing her to feel however she feels. I own my own stuff and hers belongs to her. I also need to allow for a glass of wine only on one night, and REALLY only one.

Also a landmine - planning for this Thursday's benefit gala, no booze (I declare it - though it's going to be tough!) and only two small plates of food, spread out as much as possible through the evening. Possibly bring gum so I'll have a reminder that I'm done when I'm done.

I've scheduled my workouts for the next 8 days and am feeling good about the blend of running, yoga, weight training, and other cardio. It's all stuff that's fun for me, and I know that some workouts are balls-to-the-wall while others are barely above the threshhold of COGOGICO (clothes on, get out, get in, clothes off). One thing I could really like adding in, though, is more abdominal work. I just feel so good the next day everytime I do it!

Some keys for success - especially this weekend:
I'll need to focus on water, water, water instead of endless mugs of coffee.
Daily meditation
One workout while on retreat
Check portion size, eat slowly, be present while eating, and take the rest "to go" if eating out.
Yes, the cheese and pasta are alluring, BUT... this week is all about the assumption of salad, especially when eating out.
Two treats!! At the gala - a dessert, and this weekend, a glass of wine on Sat night

Okay - that's the plan. Gonna cross the next round's finish line with flying colors!
