I'm sorry I missed yesterday's update.  I had my first full day of classes plus work today, and in my excitement the night before I forgot to post.

Continuing along my outlined sugar detox plan:

Day Six was relatively uneventful.  I'd gotten used to eating very little sugar or carbohydrates, and my weight reflected this.

I started the day with scrambled eggs and bacon this time, including my sauteed vegetables that I really love.  I even cooked the eggs in the bacon grease, which was extra delicious.

Lunch was coleslaw made with almonds, and blue cheese dressing instead of the sugar filled coleslaw dressing.  I also had summer sausage and string cheese.

Because yesterday was a shorter day at work, I didn't get the chance to eat my snack until about 5:30, but it was my go to bucket of vegetables with Laughing Cow cheese.  No almond butter today.

Dinner was unbreaded, baked chicken wings seasoned with spices (and let me tell you how hard it is to find that nutritional information.  I also had green beans with it.

Day Seven

Today proved to be a real treat!  I've introduced milk, yogurt and fruit back into my diet.  Everything tasted so much sweeter than I remember, and my digestive system is thanking me for the extra fibre.  I had a lot of energy today (likely a combination of fruit and a good night sleep).

Breakfast today was a 1/2 cup of plain yogurt, a half scoop of vanilla flavoured 100% whey protein isolate and about 3/4 cup of mixed melons.  The flavour from the melons burst on my tongue and I savoured every bite.  My coffee with milk came with me to work.

I had a snack between work and class of a string cheese and a granny smith apple, and again, the apple tasted even better than I'd been imagining.

I sat through two hours of lectures, snacking on plain veggies during the second one.  Lunch was leftover chicken wings and green beans eaten on a park bench in the sun before snagging another small coffee with milk before my last tutorial of the day.

As I said, I seemed to have a lot of energy today, so I went to the gym after class.  I haven't been to the gym in two weeks!

Dinner was honey mustard chicken breast, green beans and a ceasar salad.  I tried my best to remove the marinade (with added sugar), but because my well meaning room mates cooked for me I didn't want to turn it down.

Today was about 1200 very satisfying calories:

Fat: 30%

Protein: 30%

Carbs: 40% (79 g sugar)

This is a huge turn around from the last six days, but calorie content and satiety seem to be the same.  I'm still not craving cookies or chips, so I seem to be on track.  I'm also losing weight faster than anticipated (almost at my round two goal).  I can only hope this will be sustainable.

More tomorrow!
