Writing is my happy place. It is where I am known, it is where I am comfortable and it is where I can visualize a story while I am writing it down. I am currently working on a book when I have a free moment but I havent touched it in a couple of weeks. I miss my characters and am anticipating their trip. I am writing this blog post as a way to get the creative juices going again. Everything here will always be true. I may not say it to anyone but I figured if this is a dietbet and in order to be healthy, I have to be happy and content then this is where I will start. Though I am not sure how long I will write here but we will see.
For years, my husband and I have been paying for a SNAP Fitness gym membership to complete random videos in a room from Daily Burn while using no other gym equipment. Realizing this and knowing that we will be living in Georgetown where SNAP Fitness does not have a gym, we decided to turn our insulated garage into a gym when we get into the house. Based on the room we work out in and the videos we use, we have a running list of equipment to get but I am sacrificing parking in my garage on the name of working out.
Upon further investigation, I learned that for Daily Burn videos, the price is $10 a month with a free 30 day trial. I also added Ignite, their nutrition program which is an extra $5 a month. I am saving $20! The first phase of Ignite is to cut out the evil six: gluten, dairy, alcohol, sweets, artificial sweeteners and I cant remember the last one for 21 days as a detox. For the last two days, I have been eating lean meat, fruit, veggies and I do keep dairy since that is an added source of protein. I have not had anything made from bread though a cracker does sound good.
My meals look something like this: Breakfast I have a Zija Protein Shake where I mix it with Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter and one percent milk. Lunch I have had deli-turkey with smoked gouda cheese, grapes and strawberries or Chicken with veggies. Dinner has been a learning curve, On Monday I had Salmon Flourentine and a baked potato. On Tuesday I went to Subway where I got a double chicken salad with all the veggies.
I have lost three pounds in two days. I have met my protein goals on Myfitnesspal and I have met other goals on there as well. I am also well under my fat, carbs and sugar, which I have always went over on. I feel better and my stomach doesn't hurt after I eat. I am learning to be more conscious about what I put into my mouth and while I do want a fully loaded kill-my-carbs-in-one-meal meal, I keep telling myself it is all in my head and I am not really hungry as I have been more hungry since I cut out those carbs.
I am putting this on here because this is to show that in two days, I can have this result and to stick with it. I don't personally care what anyone else thinks but I am eating cleaner and healthier than ever and I was able to knock my tabata class out of the park last night. This is about learning about me and about what works.
I have not weighed in to dietbet yet due to wanting to know where I will be on Saturday or Sunday and I know this round has been going on for a week and a half already but I am stopping the excuses and doing this for real. I want my $25 back this time.
