Last year I lost around 26 pounds in a 6 month Dietbet from November 2013 to May 2014... and over the following 5 months, managed to put about 18 pounds back on. Okay, still a net win, but seriously? Most of that weight loss was accomplished with diet alone.  I barely exercised at all, so did nothing to actually change my metabolism. One without the other is a recipe for failure, as you need to increase muscle mass and activity to effect any kind of long term changes in metabolism. I'm going to turn 57 during this contest and quite frankly I am running out of time to get fit. I have to make this work, I have to keep it working for the rest of my life, and I am going to.

I am going to follow the Isagenix 30 day cleanse program for nutrition (I'm a distributor, so it's about time I use these excellent products to my own benefit) and fat loss and use my elliptical machine, treadmill, freeweights and workout DVD's for my fitness regime for this 4 week Dietbet.  And then I am going to join another 4 week Dietbet and more after that etc until I reach my goal of approximately 200 pounds.

During this time I will continue to use the Isagenix nutrition program and lots of regular exercise. I am also going to start hosting dietbets and use the ongoing bets I participate in and host as a serious incentive to keep up with this until I hit my goal and then to stay there. Some like to go to meetings, whether it be Weight Watchers, or any of the other truly great programs there are.  I just find I am too busy for weekly meetings at specific times and prefer to check in with everyone in this group online. This will be my lifelong public accountability program.

Who's with me?
