Struggles:

  • Halloween candy clearance sales.... Noooooo!  Unfortunately some fun-sized packs of Reese's Nutrageous bars and Peanut M & M's found their way into my house/mouth, fun size is a great idea but who can ever just eat one?  At the time of purchase, I thought it was a bargain deal and worth it but I'm not thinking that so much now. I stepped on the scale this morning and saw an extra pound smiling back at me.  Bleep!
  • Also noticing anytime someone wants to get together to catch up/hang out, 99% of the time it's "Let's grab lunch, a drink or dinner (or both)".   I suggest "let's go for a walk/hike/nail salon/shopping" but just get the muppet-face look back at me instead.   It's been an eye opener finding out how much daily movement/exercising that others are actually doing or not doing at all and what their daily diets consists of.

My boyfriend has great metabolism, is super active, supportive to my weight loss goals and healthy eating habits and does not diet.  He likes to go out to eat on weekends.  Yesterday, we ate breakfast, lunch AND dinner at nearby local Seattle restaurants.  I ordered from the menu as healthily/wisely as I could but even still.. who knows if the chef drowned my veggies in oil/butter and I can't see how much salt is being added to anything either.  In the evening, we ate in the Restaurant's bar area and I of course HAD to order a drink because.. I was in a bar.  Did I really need to do that?  Probably not.  I actually love and prefer my own cooking - especially since I know what's going into it but I don't want to be anti-social either.  I'm going to be strong, keep my foot down, limit going out to eat for special occasions, ignore my cravings and stay firm with saying "NO THANK YOU" and speaking of thanks..

Gobble Day Fears:

  • We're going out of town for Turkey Day and I can already hear all of the food-peer pressure from the persistent family and friends for me to eat  their delicious homebaked goodies.   What's the best way to just say no without sounding like a party pooper?
