I teach an Aqua Boot Camp. Each class is a different style. Today, I realized we hadn't done circuits for a while. So, circuits it was. Our circuits consist of 3 stations - stretch bands, cardio, and step aerobics. The steps we use are actually the platforms we made for the preschoolers during swim lessons so they can touch. The step is almost knee height - way too high for step aerobics UNLESS you're in the water. :)
Anyway, I set up 1.5 minutes at each of the three stations, five rotations. 1.5 minutes doing step aerobics on those platforms is PLENTY. Last time we did the circuit, my legs were screaming at about 1 minute and I hated the last 30 seconds. Since then, I've been doing TONS of squats with the NFL Training Camp on the wii. Today, I looked up at the clock when I started to feel a mild (but easily ignored) burn on the step portion. My timer counts down and it said 0:02! The other four rotations on the step were just as easy.
Those squats are paying off. I am stronger than I used to be. VICTORY!!!
