I'm really excited for this. I started running May 2013 and lost almost 50 pounds that summer, also running my first 5k . I stopped working out once winter hit that year and by October this year, I had gained all the weight back. As unhappy as the weight gain made me, I knew it was for good reasons. My marriage was happy and we had just moved to Tennessee from Michigan. Although before the move to Tennessee, my husband and I were both quite physically active, that slowed down after the move. Plus our eating habits were horrible. We're both on track to get back into the swing of eating right and working out. He's currently in Afghanistan so I don't actually have him here to workout with but I want to lose this weight before he comes home later this year. That is my motivation, to have him be proud of me for reaching my goals. He's also eating better and working out so when he gets home, we'll be one the same page and can workout together. I started working out again in November, doing Insanity. I did that for a month before I got burned out. It's an amazing program to follow though. I lost 10 pounds in a month from it. It was a good kick start to working out again. The holidays really messed me up though. I had been following a low-carb lifestyle previous to the holidays and told myself I'd stick with it during the holidays, indulging on low carb foods and maybe one dessert. But that didn't happen....at all. I gained 5 pounds from the holiday feasts. As disappointed as I am that I failed myself there, I know setbacks happen, the holidays being the hardest of them. Now that the holidays are over, I want to get back into eating right and workingout and this diet bet is the perfect motivation. I don't want to lose my $25 when I know I am capable of losing the 4% in 28 days. Plus the idea of making a little money too spices up the deal. I think being held accountable for my diet and exercise is good motivation to lose the weight. Hoping the diet bet will also keep me going after it's over since I worked so hard during the month. Good luck to everyone!
