My pastor in church today held up a disassembled bag of LEGOs in children's time today and asked, "Do you ever feel like this?" I admit, sometimes I do feel like a bag of parts with no assembly directions. I'm probably even missing some pieces.

Coincidently, I've also been playing LEGO Hobbit on the Wii with my daughter a lot. My minifig gets blown apart on a regular basis: it gets hit by goblins, or I fall off a cliff, or I miss the landing when I try to jump on stuff.

The cool part about the game is you always get reassembled right away, ready to continue the journey. There is no "You have died too many times - Game Over" in LEGO.

Today I choose to reassemble my minifig of a self and continue the journey. My parts may show a bit of wear, and some might fall off in the course of trying to do this weight loss thing. But when I reassemble for the next try, I will remember that disassembly and reassembly is always part of the project. This time, I might swap out the LEGO girl hair for a space helmet, or a Darth Vader head, or perhaps a zombie face if I'm feeling saucy. The choices are endless.

How will you assemble your minifig today?
